Dahyun yawned as she stretched her arms, groaning as she felt her back ache for sitting for hours, working in front of her laptop.
Being a detective really isn't an easy one.
She closed her eyes, massaging her temples as different scenarios keep flashing on her.
Having the kind of job as hers sure is a lot to take in, it's a good job to help people but that doesn't mean that it has no consequence.
Seeing dead and lifeless bodies, blood scattered all over the crime scene and sometimes even handling such hysterical victims.
All in all, it was really exhausting because even when you got home, unfinished works are still tailing behind you.
"When will I finish such fcking case like this?"
She wanted to burst out crying but she knows she couldn't.
She has to be strong... for herself atleast.
"You have to go home as well, Hyun... you've been spending countless nights here already. Take some rest."
She carefully opened her eyes and there was her boss and at the same time bestfriend, Nayeon, standing in front of her, looking worried.
"It's fine, Unnie... I can still manage. I still have lots of cases to fi—"
"Which is due up until the next two months. You don't need to rush everything, Hyun... make some time for yourself."
"But—"
"I'm the boss here, Kim."
Dahyun felt silent with her mouth agape before unknowingly had tears flowing down her cheeks as she stood up to engulf the older in a tight hug.
"You really are the best..."
"I know, right?"
Dahyun mentally rolled her eyes with her cockyness as she separated from their hug.
"I'm just caring about your health, Dubs. Behind this jolly and happy facade of yours is such a serious overworked detective."
"You should rest too—"
"My rest is done, already did it a week ago NOW it's your time to rest and I'll take over on some cases you're working with."
It was Nayeon who took Dahyun's purse and work case, handing it to the Tofu as she guided them both on the exit of the building, sending Dahyun off.
"Drive safely. I don't want you to be our next case to investigate with."
The younger pouted earning a light chuckle from the Bunny before engulfing her in a hug and finally sending her off, waving her goodbye.
Nayeon watched how Dahyun's car slowly fade from her sight as it drove further, her smile not leaving her face.
Dahyun might just think of her as an Unnie but for her, she admires the younger a lot.
She admires and loves her... more than a best friend does but she knows it's impossible for the latter to reciprocate what she's feeling.
It was a one-sided love... but Nayeon won't give up guiding and caring fo her.

"I thought you're already dead."
Dahyun had to blink twice when she was immediately greeted by such saying coming from her co-worker, Tzuyu.
"Excuse me? As far as I could remember, I'm still older—"
