Title: Jealous

An ALT chapter (or half chapter?) for Chapter Sixteen of Forget Me (on FF.net).

Pairing: Skylox

Genre: humor, I guess

Warnings: Jason's a jokey jerk turned Shipping Captain. Oh, and spoilers for Forget Me, I guess.

Word Count: 597, ew (actually this is longer than the last oneshot but i wrote this one first and yeah dont judge me)

Jason huffs, and I can hear him setting the phone down on a table. "Gosh," he whispers. "I hope she's okay."

"I don't know," I say skeptically. "Seems kind of suspicious to me. I mean, what kind of idiot wouldn't immediately call for help after being kidnapped? She had a charged phone with her – why didn't she call someone? And another thing – why on earth does she have Sky's phone?"

"Maybe it was in her backpack and she didn't notice it until it started ringing. Maybe Sky put it there in the hopes that she'd be able to call someone," Jason suggests. "Alesa means well, Ty. You have to stop thinking she's an undercover murderer."

I sigh in frustration. "I know, I freaking know, I just- Jason? C-Can I tell you a secret?"

"You can tell me anything."

"I'm jealous. Jealous, okay? I hate that Sky spends so much time with Alesa, and I hate that he enjoys her company more than mine, and I absolutely despise the way that she is replacing me, and-" I cut myself off with a heartbreaking sob. "And I can't lose him, not to Alesa, not to the squids, not to this kill switch thing – I just can't lose him, I can't!"

At this point, I'm close to having a breakdown. I guess Jason can sense it, 'cause the first thing he does is shush me like a mother would a child. "It's okay, Ty, it'll be all right," he coos, and I cry harder because he's lying, isn't he? Of course he is, he doesn't know the future.

"You don't know that," I sniffle, voicing my thoughts.

Jason sighs. "Fine, you're right, I don't. But we're all trying our very hardest to get Sky and Alesa back."

I cringe at the sound of her name, and Jason uses his weird sixth sense to realize my discomfort.

"But, dude, seriously. A little bit of new friend jealousy doesn't warrant you hating her guts."

"No, J-Jason, you don't get it. It's not some stupid 'new friend jealousy,' I-I am legitimately jealous of Alesa."

"But why?"

"Because he's falling for her, Jason."

"And?"

"And... and I've already fallen for him."

He's silent for a long moment. Then a quiet "oh" escapes his mouth.

I chuckle humorlessly. "Yeah."

"... Is Sky even gay?"

I huff in exasperation. "Out of all the things you could have asked, you chose that?"

"Sorry."

"It's okay. And, uh, for the record... Sky's bi."

"Yes! That means SkyMU is possible!"

"I will murder you, Space Boy."

Jason laughs nervously. "Kidding, I'm kidding. Maybe I can help you with the Skylox, though."

"Sky was kidnapped," I remind him bluntly.

"Oh, right. Well, I'll start once we get him back." He stops for a second. "Woot, woot! I will go down with this ship!"

I laugh. At least someone's on my side.

"Ty!" Seto calls from downstairs. "I have news."

"What kind of news?"

"JUST GET YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE."

My eyes widen, and I hang up the phone and jump off the couch. "Did someone die?" I ask worriedly.

"Not yet," he replies as I hop down the stairs and into the potion room. "But I think I may have located Sky and Alesa."

I make a loud, celebratory noise. "Whoop, whoop! Let's go find Sky! … And Alesa!"
