They say time heals everything. Well, it's been two hundred and sixteen days since we broke up, and time has not healed the wound that opened up when it happened.

Mal's POV

I giggled and threw some popcorn at Ginny, who in turn did the same to me and we continued like that until both of our bowls were empty. Luna suddenly turned up next to us and stared at the mess we made, shaking her head at us.

"What happened here?" She asked with a smile on her face.

"Luna. Save me please." Neville pleaded to her playfully and flinched when both Ginny and I started attacking him with the popcorn.

"Poor Neville, you two know he hates it when you girls make a mess." She shook her head and leaned down to start picking up the popcorn.

"You two have been friends with Ginny for what... five? Six years now? She doesn't go anywhere without making a mess." I teased and backed away when Ginny tried to smack my arm.

"True." Luna and Neville both said and Ginny rolled her eyes at them.

"So... what's been going on? What have you three been talking about?" Luna asked and sat down.

"So today's thanksgiving right? But we're not able to celebrate it as we should because of those bloody Carrows." I began.

"Wait. I thought you hated Thanksgiving." Neville interrupted.

"I hate the principles Thanksgiving reinforces, by the way it's also an American holiday, just saying, but that doesn't mean it should be taken away. What about the other students who do celebrate Thanksgiving? Don't be selfish Neville." I teased and he sighed, putting his chin in his hand and waiting for me to continue. "So, we want to make the Carrows suffer a small bit of what we have these past couple months." I smiled and Ginny nodded her head eagerly.

"We have things from my brothers' joke shop." Ginny and I took the items out of our pockets. "I have Fever Fudge, but I'll split it up and only lay out the part which causes them to develop a fever and get sick and all that, and then after they've been shivering for a couple hours, I'll give them the other part: the antidote."

"And I have Puking Pastilles, the name of which explains their whole purpose: they eat it and they get sick, it won't be so bad but they'll need to go to the infirmary." I explained. "Your turn Neville." I encouraged him and Luna looked at him questioningly. He groaned but pulled out his items from his pockets.

"Ton-Tongue Toffees." He named. "If they eat them their tongues will swell up so they can barely talk, mostly because it'll be uncomfortable to."

"That way, they can't cruse us if we get discovered, and we'll have time to try and come up with a way to defend ourselves against them once they're back to normal." I explained.

"I'm still confused as to how you got roped into this Neville." Luna said.

"It isn't my fault!" Neville complained, "have you met these two? When they're together there won't be anyone stopping them. So I either join them, or stay behind. And honestly, I'm tired of the Carrows." He pointed to a cut on his lip, "got it from defending first years. They deserve a taste of their own medicine."

"That's the attitude!" I said and high fived Neville.

"Alright, how are we going to do this?" Luna sighed and leaned in to hear more about the plan. We smiled, excited that Luna would join us, and began talking quietly about our plan to fight off the Carrows for tonight would work.
