I should've known our time was limited. I shouldn't have wasted it. I'm sorry.

Draco's POV

A couple seconds passed by and a piercing silence spread across the room since she had stopped pacing as soon as the question left my mouth.

"What?" She whispered, still not turning to me. I took her shoulders and softly turned her to look at me.

"Marry me." I saw a look of worry pass over her face and held my breath. Please say yes. She said nothing for a couple moments.

"Oh shit." She took a seat on the bed. "Woah."

"A good woah?" I asked, still terrified.

"Just... woah. I mean, we're 18 Draco. We're so young. And we just got back together."

"I know. But I'm not saying it has to be today, or tomorrow, or even in a year if you're not ready. I just know that I want you. Only you." She opened her mouth to respond but I stopped her, "before you refuse, just hear me out." I pleaded and she nodded. I kneeled down on both knees to meet her eye level and took her hands in mine. "It's you. It's always been you. Even when I tried to deny that to myself, I've always known. And I am such an idiot for pretending that wasn't the case for three whole years, because those are years I could've spent with you by my side. When you came into my bedroom four years ago, I saw you in a way I never had before, I saw you as what you always were, my savior. You didn't only save me from my father's wrath that night Katerina, you saved me from myself. You made me want to be better for you Katerina. Even though I was a lost hope to everyone else, your friends, your family, my family, you always saw the light in me. Light I didn't even know I had. No one has ever made me feel as safe as you do. My family and Malfoy Manor... those don't make me safe. Nothing does. Nothing except for you. Home for me, is wherever you are. It's been that way for four years, it'll be that way forever. I can't imagine anyone else that I would want to wake up to in the mornings except for you. I know we always say life isn't like in books. In fact, we say it's the exact opposite of a fairytale, but if being with you is as close as I'm going to get to living a fairytale, I'll take it. So please Katerina, say yes. I'll wait however long you need me to before you're ready, but please tell me that one day, you'll become my wife."

Mal's POV

Holy shit. Bloody fucking hell.

I heard the two words ring in my head continuously after he spoke.

'Marry me.'

He said it so confidently. So... hopeful. I can't say no.

But can I say yes? I mean, we're 18. We got back together yesterday.

But he is right, I've realized a long time ago that it's us. To the end. We might be crazy when we're together but we're psychotic when we're not. We make each other better. I make him a better person, and he makes me feel comfortable being me. No judgement. With him, I can be annoying, sarcastic, playful, intelligent, moody, and he can even make me feel sexy. He's the only one I feel comfortable being like this with. This has got to mean something. Right?

"Kat?" His voice interrupted my thoughts. "What do you say?"

"Yes." I whispered.

"What?" He asked, smiling at me hopefully.

"Yes. I'll marry you." I repeated and squeeled when he took me by my waist and lifted me up, spinning me around, and kissed me deeply.

"Wait. Wait." He put me down and ran over to his desk drawer, scrambling to grab something. Oh god. He pulled out a small, black velvet box. Oh god. A mix of anticipation and panic filled inside me, and I had to fight the urge to close my eyes or even run. My mommy and daddy issues are screaming inside me right now. He seemed to sense my panic and spoke quickly. "It's not an engagement ring." I sighed in relief and nodded at him. He sat me down on the bed next to him and opened the box to reveal a beautiful ring, with small diamonds and emeralds, put together in the shape of small leaves. It's beautiful. And I guess it doesn't really look like an engagement ring. I smiled at him as he slipped the ring on my left index finger. "It's a promise ring. A promise that no matter what my father, my mum, or your birth father say, it's you and me. Always. And you're sure, right?"
