Dirty Snake Friends

As the owls flooded into the Great Hall as usual the next morning, everyone's attention was caught at once by two identical sized and shaped long, thin packages carried by six large screech owls each, the only difference was one was wrapped in red and the other was wrapped in yellow. Artemis was just as interested as everyone else to see what was in these large parcels, and was amazed when the owls soared down and dropped it right in front of her, sending her waffle flying a few plates down, the other large parcel landing in front of harry potter, they shared a confused look with each other from across their separate tables and Artemis shrugged her shoulders.

They had hardly fluttered out of the way when Kol, her greaty sooty owl, dropped a letter on top of the parcel in front of her, all of her friends and people at her table were huddling closer to her. Artemis ripped open the letter first, which was lucky, because it said:

PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE PARCEL AT THE TABLE. It contains your lovely new Nimbus Two Thousand, but I don't want everybody knowing you've got a broomstick or they'll all want one, and sadly that cant happen. Good luck for your first game, you begin training at the same time as the others, Justin Moore will tell you everything you need to know

Artemis had difficulty hiding her glee as he handed the note to Adira to read.

"A Nimbus Two Thousand!" Adira whispered excitedly and hugged her friend quickly. "I've never even touched one, sure I never really had a thing for quidditch, but I've read all about them, they are made almost to perfection."

They left the hall quickly (Artemis, Adira, Lindsey and Lily), wanting to unwrap the broomstick in private before their first class, and luckily they all shared the same dorm. They quickly made their way down to the entrance of the Hufflepuff basement and knocked on the barrel and then ran in and ran over to their dorm room excitedly

"well what is it?" Lily asked, unable to contain her excitement

"it's a nimbus 2000, we will open it after all our classes, we are going to be late to potions, come on" Artemis said and they ran out, the day had gone exceptionally slow but the classes had finally finished and the girls all stood around Artemis bed with excited grins on their young faces.

"Wow," Adira exclaimed with a giant grin on her freckled face as the broomstick rolled onto Artemis's yellow and black bedspread. The girls, even though none of them besides Artemis played quidditch, thought it looked wonderful. Sleek and shiny, with a mahogany handle, it had a long tail of neat, straight twigs and Nimbus Two Thousand written in gold near the top. After that, it was announced that Hufflepuffs had training 3 nights a week and with training and school work, the time at Hogwarts was flying by.

The twins and Artemis had only gotten closer and closer, getting into trouble and pulling more pranks, just last week, the three had been caught dung bombing snapes office and earned a week of detention and losing 20 points each for their house, the detention had ultimately resulted in them missing their quidditch practise and they were sure they had cleaned every trophy in the school by now, Fred and Artemis had also gotten extremely close

Artemis skipped down the halls happily, her arm interlocked with Octavias and they had just finished having an argument with Malfoy and their goons.

"honestly, his ego is bigger than his bloody future" Octavia said with a scowl, conintuing to rant about draco Malfoy

"I think his ego is bigger than his parents bank account" Artemis adds and the two girls begin to snicker

"Well, look who we found Georgie, Octavia, you wouldn't mind if we borrowed dear Artemis would you?" Fred asks as he and his twin make their way over to the two girls quickly
