The snow still hadn't melted the next morning.

"Want to play chess, Harry?" said Ron.

"No." Harry replied sternly and then Ron turned to look at Artemis with a hopeful grin

"Want to play chess, Artemis?" Ron asked an Artemis let out a sigh

"Sorry Ron, but I don't think I really ever want to play that game again" Artemis says with a small chuckle "it bloody pisses me off"

"Why don't we go down and visit Hagrid?" Ron said and Artemis straightened up at this

"Sure, that sounds great, I have to thank him for my Christmas gift anyways" Artemis says with a grin

"No . . . you two go . . ." Harry muttered out and was staring off into space

"I know what you're thinking about, Harry, that mirror. Don't go back tonight." Artemis says with a sigh, she did feel bad for the boy, but both of her parents were taken from her too and while she wanted to see them, she knew that no matter how long she stared into that mirror, they wouldn't come back, she'd waste away waiting for something that would never happen

"Why not?" Harry asked in confusion but he also sounded annoyed

"I told you last night Harry, I've just got a bad feeling about it — it doesn't show reality harry, It only shows your heart's desire, I know you want to see them, but the mirror won't bring them back, I'm sorry and anyway, you've had too many close shaves already. Filch, Snape, and Mrs. Norris are wandering around. So what if they can't see you? What if they walk into you? What if you knock something over?" Artemis states

"You sound like Hermione." Harry states as if that were a bad thing

"what's wrong with that, Hermione is an incredibly smart and kind witch" Artemis says, hating how the two boys still spoke so ill of Hermione even though they were best friends now "I'm serious, Harry, don't go."

"I agree with Artemis, something isn't right about that mirror, don't go" Ron said with a sigh but Artemis knew that no matter what her and Ron would say, Harry wouldn't listen, she was like that too

"well I'm going down to see Hagrid and thank him for my gift" Artemis says with a sigh and stands up from the table and makes her way out of the great hall and down to Hagrid's hut. She lifted her hand to knock then tapped a little roughly on the cold wood of the keeper of key's house

The door swung open and revealed Hagrid with a big grin on his face "artemis! Come in! come in!" he ushered and she quickly thanked him and then walked into the small hut and took a seat on one of Hagrids large armchairs which was way too big for her. Fang jumped up and laid down next to her, placing his head in her lap and she began to pat his head softly

"so what brings ya down 'ere then 'ey" Hagrid said and began pouring some tea for the girl and himself

"I just wanted to thank you for my Christmas present" Artemis says with a wide grin "I loved it"

Hagrid walked over to her and handed her a cup of tea "I'm glad ya liked it, I carved it mehself," Hagrid said proudly and Artemis grinned and then began to drink her tea "so how was the rest of ya Christmas then ey?"

"it was brilliant, one of the best I have had, it was great to be surrounded by so many people" Artemis said but then felt guilty "don't get me wrong, I love spending Christmas with Remus but it does get a tad bit lonely"

"of course" Hagrid said and gave her a smile and the two talked about lots of different things for about another hour or so and then Artemis decided to say her goodbyes and then made her way back up to the castle but was stopped by Cedric and JJ
