Chapter 29

Chaeyoung 

I left Tzuyu's place and decided to go at Jihyo's place. 

Good thing she doesn't have work today so she's at home. 

"Hey Chaeyoung, come in" 

Doc Jihyo said when she went outside after I pressed the doorbell. 

The moment I went in, I already wanted to go. 

She's with KD, I think, I'll ruin their moment. 

"I'll just go, I'll come back next time." 

I said but KD shook his head. 

"I'm about to go to my work. You're not disturbing anything. Just feel free to stay" 

He said KD usually doesn't talk, but I know he's a kind guy. 

The way Jihyo is blooming almost everyday is proof that he's taking care of her. 

Of course, there were times of conflict between them but they both know they are each other's safe place. 

They don't have the perfect relationship nor the perfect love.. But they have the key to make their relationship last. 

Doc Jihyo kissed KD's cheek when he's about to leave.

Yeah,right in front of me. 

"Here, catch!" 

I immediately caught the beer Doc Jihyo threw at me. 

She really won't forget the beer when she's doing groceries. 

She's also a heavy drinker, she said.

"By the way Chaeyoung, I finally remembered that Tzuyu!" 

I coughed after drinking the beer. 

Gosh. 

"I saw her at the hospital that time you had an accident. 

I also saw her visiting you when you're still unconscious. 

I checked the names of those who visited you and Chou Tzuyu visited you the most." 

Doc Jihyo said. I just looked at the floor and play with the can of beer. 

Yeah.. That was it.. She was there because she was the reason of that accident. 

"You're not talking.. Uhm well, yeah. You rarely talk but why does it feel different today?

You're okay, right?" 

That last question hit me.

Am I okay after learning the truth? Did it really make me feel not guilty because it wasn't really my fault? 

But that truth caused me to lose two friends. 

My number 1 and number 2.

Ah.. Also the one who offered to be the number three. 

"Yeah. Of course." 

Obviously a lie. Doc Jihyo didn't insist on asking if I'm really okay so we continued drinking. 

"And.. You and Mina progressing?" 

She asked. Yeah, she doesn't know the things I've done to Mina. 

She doesn't know I fooled her by making her hope the gifts she's receiving are from Jeongyeon. 

Doc Jihyo doesn't know that except the thing that I'm blaming myself because Mina jumped to save me. 

" I guess not?" 

She added and handed me another beer. 

"I can really feel that there's something you're not telling me. 

Tho you can tell that to a friend. 

I just want to remind you that it won't cause you any good if you suppress to talk about it. 

It will be kept inside and the next thing you'll know, you already exploded. 

You won't die physically of course, but it'll kill you inside. 

That's worse than dying. "

Doc Jihyo advised and drank from her beer.

She's a doctor after all. 

"Thanks, Doc" 

I said and smiled at her. 

I know I can't smile genuinely but I'm trying to make her feel I'm really thankful that I became a patient in that hospital. 

She's one of the prizes I received when that accident happened. 

I received a Doctor friend who has a lot of beer. 

"So, you can tell me anything if you want to. Maybe not now, but soon.

You know my address, my number and the hospital where I work.

So don't hesitate to disturb me" 

She joked. But I know she meant it.

I still went to University the next morning. I have to. 

I saw Dahyun walking towards my direction. 

A flashback of what Tzuyu said last night came in. 

I don't hate Dahyun, I'm just disappointed. Too disappointed. 

I'm disappointed about myself too. 

"Chaeyoung. Can we talk?" 

She asked when she finally crossed the distance between us. 

I nodded and followed her at the back of the building. 

"Are you okay?" 

She asked and looked at me. 

"How about you, are you okay?" 

I asked back. There's something with the tune of my voice that made her look at me intently. 

"You're really not okay." 

She said again and tried to hug me. I let her. 

"How can you be happy with that Sana when in fact, you really stole her from Tzuyu?" 

I felt Dahyun froze. I can't see her reaction since she's hugging me. 

"You were encouraging me to pursue Mina and steal her from Jeongyeon because that's what you did, right?" 

I asked again. Dahyun can't even move away from the hug. 

Too startled? 

"And you really stayed with Tzuyu in spite of that fact that you're one of the reasons why they broke up. 

You both cheated on her that night of my accident. 

If you didn't do it.. 

There shouldn't be any mess." 

I said and distance myself away from her. 

She's still shocked. Maybe because she can feel the disappointment in every words I said. 

"C-chaeyoung.." 

That's the only word she uttered before the bell rang. 

I left her and went directly to my next class. 

Good thing, I can't cry again.
