Soraya Legacy Valentine | Binkie

"We have so much to discuss, Valentine." Dr. Harris practically squealed, "first let's begin with this adoption process/thing."

"Getting the call from my manager, Dr. Milton, I was shocked. Not to mention Sergeant Warthley not even telling me he was forcing this adoption process on you."

"This wasn't forced on me, let's get that straight for starters, I always knew I didn't want to push out a child and there was no need when there's practically thousands of kids sitting in those foster homes parentless and hungry. Nothing was forced on nobody, I want this, I want Jalen."

"Seems like we're already not of to much of a good start, are you sure you'd rather adopt?"

"I don't want my own biological kids ever; I don't need them. There are thousands Dr. Harris, thousands, of young children with no home, no love and no support. Jumping from house to house: I'm pretty sure i've made myself quite clear, I want to adopt forever and I want my first child to be Jalen."

"Have you and him completely discussed this?"

"Yes we have actually, first thing he asked was if he could call me mommy now and he has been ever since."

"And did you say yes?"

"Are you a fool? I just said he has been ever since so if that doesn't give you the answer you're looking for, I don't know what does."

"Do you want to move out? Get your own house, live on your own?"

"You know I do, you wouldn't be bringing it up if I didn't."

"Holly Jarrett is a close friend of my husbands, they dated back in the day. She kind've mouthed off about you and about what she thought of you and the situation."

"How does she even know of me?"

"She's Noel's niece." Soraya's stomach churned and her heart paused.
[Noel is the woman who worked in the asylum that Soraya was sent to when she was sixteen]

"W-what?" She stammered.

"How is she allowed near me? How could you allow her near me, what the hell?" Soraya quickly stood to her feet appalled, "why would you do that?"

"Soraya." Dr. Harris said sternly.

"No how could you? How dare you? Why would you do that to me?"

"I didn't know, alright."

"Bullshit, she's your husbands ex and now close friend. How the fuck could you let her near me? Into my home! Into where I fucking sleep at night!" Soraya screamed to the top of her lungs, "how dare you do that to me! Do you know what her auntie fucking put me through! The trauma!" Soraya felt her heart race and her breath quicken.

"How dare you do that to me!" Her throat felt like it was tightening and her head felt warm, "how dare you!" She repeated with less passion as the walls felt like they were closing in on her and she tried pushing them away to find space however losing footing she quickly fell to the floor and lost conscious.

⌛️⏳⌛️

When Soraya woke, she was in a hospital. She began crying feeling bounded to the bed. She couldn't stop crying no matter how hard she tried to, she was all alone when she woke up.

No loving protecting boyfriend or lovely son or energetic Kaia or annoying brother.

She was all alone.

She hiccuped and cried as she tried moving her arms or fingers or simply wiggling her toes.

She felt like she was back in the asylum: all hospitals had the same rancid smell to them.

She felt trapped like she was clothed in a stray jacket and there were shackles on her feet and chains on her wrists with a collar attached to a leash around her neck.

She cried more at the thought before hearing the door unlock, "she's awoken." somebody said however it sounded inaudible to her.

More tears escaped from her eyes as she felt like the walls were closing in on her again. Her eyes were fixated on the blurry image of a person before everything went black and all she could see was darkness once again.
