A/N: This was such a fun request to do, even though at first I wasn't sure that I'd know how to do this properly. So, thank you mixed-up-socks for the request!

Third Person

RoyalPain: V, this is gonna sound real sh!tty over text but we need to break up. I'm sorry.

Virgil stared down at the text, confused. He hadn't done anything wrong, not that he knew anyway, and if he did then surely Raina would tell him. She was always very forward, ever since they met. Breaking up over text wasn't her style. In addition to the sadness that came with the thought of their relationship ending, he was worried. So, he decided to speed-walk the rest of the way home to their shared apartment.

The walk took longer than he would've liked, though usually he was able to admire the scenery while listening to music. He made his way up the stairs despite the fact that their building has an elevator, mainly because they only lived on the third floor and he was too anxious to wait for the metal box of death to take him up. He almost snapped his key in the lock in his rush and didn't hesitate to toss his bag aside once he entered.

"Raina? Are you here?" He called, his mind rushing to all the worst possibilities. She could have been kidnapped, and the kidnapper could have sent the text to throw him off their trail! Did she have any crazy possessive ex's that would do that? He actually didn't know, which made the situation seem even more likely. Before he could give himself a panic attack he went to their room, trying not to overreact. It was something she had helped him to work on. He opened the door, finding a half-packed suitcase with some of her other belongings strewn about, "Raina?"

He heard a small sniffle come from the direction of the closet. He relaxed slightly, relieved that she was still here, and opened the closet door. She was sitting against the wall with her knees pulled up to her chest, "Please stop calling me that," She mumbled, scrubbing a sleeved arm across one side of her face. It didn't do much, considering there were still tears falling down her face.

"What do you mean?" He asked, crouching down to be face-to-face with her. Given their maybe-break-up he didn't quite know whether she'd want him to comfort her or not.

"I just- I hate being called by that name. It doesn't feel right," She muttered, burying her face further into her knees. Virgil looked even more confused, "I'm trans, Vee."

Virgil gaped at her- correction, him. It made a lot of sense when he thought about it. He never really acted like a 'typical girl' would, unless you count the whole scared-of-the-dark thing, and he seemed awfully interested in the lgbtq+ community despite, to Virgil's knowledge, being straight. Actually, was that why he wanted to break up? Because he wanted to be a boy and was actually only attracted to girls?

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked quietly, "If you aren't attracted to me because you're trans and actually like girls-"

"I don't like girls," He interrupted.

Virgil paused, "Then why did you send that break-up text?"

He shrugged, "I didn't think you'd accept me when I told you," He peaked up, eyes wide and red-rimmed.

The emo couldn't stop the laugh that escaped him, "You realize I'm bi, right?" He had stopped crying by now, and was currently staring at Virgil in shock.

"Why couldn't you have said that earlier?" He yelled, throwing himself at Virgil. The two laughed over the misunderstanding, and it was fairly safe to say they wouldn't be breaking up today.

"So, I'm guessing now you want to get a full makeover and, eventually, the surgery?" Virgil asked, holding up a pink dress shirt that was a bit too form-fitting to be masculine.

He nodded, "I do want to get the surgery someday, even though it'll cost a butt-ton. For now, I was thinking of getting a haircut and going on a shopping spree?"

The darkly-dressed man laughed, "Sounds great," The two worked in silence for a few minutes, taking in the new level of comfort between them, "Hey, since Ra- you know what is your dead name, what do you want to be called?" Virgil asked as they unpacked the newly outed man's belongings.

He rubs the back of his neck awkwardly, "I had a couple in mind, but I've thought about a lot since I was sure that I wanted to be a boy..."

"And....?" Virgil prompted, used to his significant other's flare for the dramatic.

The regal boy took a deep breath, smiling brightly as he extended a hand "Hi, my name is Roman Garcia."

A/N: This is a little shorter than I would've thought, but in my defense I got it out super early and I've never done trans!Roman before
