Anakin's POV
We stood there, waiting for the other to make the first attack. I didn't want it to be me, the idea of doing this was already hard enough. But this woman in front of me; I didn't recognize her. As heart breaking as this revelation was, my wife was gone.

Consumed by Darth Izdaja.

"Come on Skywalker, kill me." She taunted me as she tilted her head; twisting the blue blade in her hand.

This can't be happening.

"You first Skywalker." Knowing what was about to happen, devastated me. Even breathing was causing me pain, like the air was poison to my lungs.

She exhaled through her nose heavily, "If you insist." She approached me quickly and clashed her blade with mine. I fought through the pain, this was for Hayden, I couldn't care about myself anymore. I had to do this; for him.

I pushed against her blade and was gaining the upper hand, she started to take a few steps back. But she quickly lifted her leg and kicked me in the stomach. I stumbled back and choked from having the air pushed out of my lungs. She tried coming back for me, but I used the force and pushed her far away from me. I panicked when I saw her going for the edge of the cliff, on instinct, I stopped her with the force before she could fall.

She got to her feet and glared up at me, "I knew you wouldn't have it in you, you're weak." She growled as she advanced to me again.

We fought in a fiery rage of blue sparks, her techniques were far from how she used to fight me. She was more aggressive, she was using more power, and she was not holding back. She truly was trying to kill me. I just don't know if I have it in me to kill her. I just know that if I lose, she will kill Obi-Wan and she will take Hayden. That thought was enough for me to be as aggressive back.

I had to do this.

I was stepping forward and she was stepping backwards. Our blades sparking together in every direction as we both deflected each other's attacks. "You will not take him from me!" She screamed as she became more aggressive. Her blade swung at my throat and I backed away, she barely missed me. I could feel the heat from the blade as it passed.

"You've given me no choice!" I yelled back as it was my turn to swing at her. I aimed for her chest which she deflected effortlessly and she took a swing at my cheek, burning my flesh. If she wasn't trying to kill me, I'd be impressed at how well she's fighting.

I groaned in pain as I stepped back and used the force to push her up against a rock wall roughly. She groaned from the impact and fell to the floor. But she got up almost instantly and called the saber back to her hand, "My turn." She growled as she lifted her hand and tried to force push me back. I slid only a few feet away.

I cracked my neck and dusted myself off, "I am the child of the force, you cannot use it against me." I stepped towards her and she held an irritable scowl.

"I don't need it to kill you." She snapped and my chest ached once again. My heart was screaming at me to stop, telling me that if I go through with this that I would never recover. And I believe it, I have no doubt that I'll be broken for the rest of my life. She is the one. The only one. Once she's gone, I'll be left with a part of me missing, a part that no one will ever be able to fill. I'll live the rest of my life alone, other than having Hayden.
