Steve was exhausted. Natasha was driving him crazy. Her mood swings were insane. He went to the compound to catch up on some "work". In truth, he needed a break. He loved her more than life itself, but have you ever met a hormonal assassin? It was dark when he got home. He had lost track of time and knew Natasha would be in a state when he got there.

Steve walked into his house hearing the television in the distance. Stumbling over shoes that his girlfriend left in the entryway, Steve walked through the dark house in search of his pregnant lover. "Nat?!"

"In here, baby!" Natasha called from the living room. As Steve walked in, he tried to stifle a laugh at the nest of blankets and pillows she made herself on their couch. He was the only one who got to see her like this, and he was honoured. Red hair in a messy bun on the top of her head, wearing Steve's hoodie with a bowl of ice cream balancing on her large belly.

Steve leaned over the back of the couch kissing her cheek, "Hi, love. What are you watching?"

"A documentary on World War II." She smirked and turned to Steve as he sat beside her. Steve just laughed and shook his head as he took a bite of her ice cream. "What?" she smugly looked at him as he opened his arms for her.

"You know, I was there? You could ask me any questions and I will answer them for you." He smiled down at her as she snuggled into his side. Natasha sighed and closed her eyes, allowing herself to relax in Steve's arms.

"You're old. Practically cradle robbing." She smiled again with her eyes still closed.

"Nat? Come on, we should get you to bed it's late." He murmured against her temple as he kissed it.

"Am I going to get sex?" The spy opened her eyes to look at her blue-eyed soldier.

"Nat. You're 38 weeks pregnant. No." He chuckled to himself as he shook his head no.

Natasha sat up facing him, "I knew it! You don't find me attractive anymore!" She huffed as she punched his arm.

"Ow. Nat, baby you know that's not it at all! We talked to Cho and she said sex can induce labour. You wanted to make it to 40 weeks. We agreed to wait." Steve spoke softly, trying to calm his girlfriend. She always had an explosive temper. But with her hormones all over the place, Steve knew it would be a matter of seconds before she was screaming at him or crying... Or both. Natasha stared at him for a minute. Then she slowly leaned in and started crying into Steve's chest. The first time it happened Steve completely freaked out. He thought she was broken. Clint was concerned too when he called. Steve had never seen her cry before and Clint had only seen her cry once. It was a pretty regular occurrence now that she had no control over her own emotions. "Come on, baby. Let's go to bed." Steve turned off the tv, picking her up and carrying her to their room. Stripping down to just his boxers and climbing into bed with her, pulling her back to his chest. Steve placed a hand over her belly, and closed his eyes. A couple minutes later, Steve felt Natasha moving. It took him a second to realize what she was doing. She was slowly grinding her ass into him.

Steve placed a hand on Natasha's hip, "Stop it, Nat."

"Stop what?"

"You know what."

"Please." Natasha started moving again, causing Steve's breath to catch in his throat. It had only been five days since the doctor told them about sex inducing labour. Five days that had been insufferable.  Natasha had made it so hard, literally.  Steve was trying his best to control himself but he knew what they both wanted. Natasha turned around to face Steve with a little help from him to roll her over. She looked at him with nothing but love and lust in her eyes as she pulled him to her for a slow sweet kiss...

The next morning, Steve and Natasha walked hand in hand to the Avengers compound and the first person they saw was Maria Hill.

"Hi Hill, how are you?" Natasha smiled at her.

"Umm, what happened? Why are you... happy?" Maria crinkled her nose at Natasha, who just gave her an expressionless face. Natasha had been miserable all week and Hill knew why. "Oh my God, you got laid." Maria smiled widely as Steve blushed and looked at the wall, that was suddenly super interesting.

"Shut up, Hill." Natasha rolled her eyes and squeezed Steve's hand.

"Whatever. Didn't the doctor tell you two to lay off and stop doing it like rabbits?"

Steve still wouldn't make eye contact with Maria but gave Natasha a pointed look. She smiled sweetly at him as they continued walking the halls. When they finally reached Nick Fury's office, they knocked before entering.

"Well, if it isn't my favourite pregnant Mama." Nick smiled at Natasha as he moved to hug her.

"How many pregnant women do you know Nick?" Natasha raised and eyebrow at him.

"One. But you're still my favourite. What can I do for you?"

"We wanted to discuss our leave for after our son is born." Steve spoke up helping Natasha sit on the couch in Nick's office. After discussing most of the logistics, Natasha asked Steve to get her a drink. Kissing her cheek, he left to find a vending machine. As soon as the door closed, Natasha looked at Nick and Maria.

"So, I know that it might be a while until I make it back to the field, and its unrealistic to always send Maria or Clint with Steve on missions. My only request, is that Agent 13 is not partnered with him."

Nick raised his eyebrow giving Natasha a look, while Maria smirked, "Did you tell Steve this?" she asked already knowing the answer.

"I think she is a good agent. And I trust Steve, but he is too nice and she is too interested and I don't want there to be any misunderstandings that would result in you losing an agent and my son never having siblings." Nick laughed and nodded.

"Okay, Romanoff. Mama knows best."

"Please stop." Natasha smirked at them, as they heard the door open behind them.

"Here you go, love." Steve handed an orange juice to Natasha. He looked from her to Maria and Nick, "What's going on?"

"Nothing, baby. I'm ready to go home." Natasha smiled as she attempted to stand up. Steve grabbed her arm, helping her as they headed for the door. "Bye Nick, bye Auntie Hill." She smirked.

"Don't call me that Natalia!"

Natasha was laughing as they walked down the hall. Steve grabbed her hand and was swinging them between them when all of a sudden Natasha stopped. "What's the matter, baby?" Steve started to panic when Natasha wouldn't answer him right away. She was just standing there, staring at him. "Nat?"

Natasha mumbled something inaudible which Steve quickly decided was Russian. She went to take a step forward and instantly stopped and placed her hand on her belly. "Umm... I think that was a contraction."

"Okay. Okay, Cho said you could have them before you actually go into labour. What did she call them? Maybe its just that."

"Braxton Hicks. And you're probably right. I mean I had them last night and nothing happened." She took a deep breath and ran her fingers through her loose curls.

"What do you mean you had them last night?? Natasha you have to tell me! Was it before I got home?" Steve was full blown panicking now.

Natasha shook her head no. "It was after we went to bed, and then again this morning. And I had a couple in Nick's office."

"We are so going to the hospital. I told you sex was a bad idea." Steve and Natasha started walking towards the car much slower than previously. Natasha smiled at Steve as he helped her into the passenger side of his truck.

"It was worth it."
