What is age regression?

So I have been wanting to write an age regression story for awhile now. If you don't know what that is, here's a short explanation:

Age regression is a coping mechanisms, where a person regresses to a younger state of mind. This is where they act like a kid, usually to 1-7 years old, but it can be older. Age regression is not a kink, there's nothing sexual about it. This mechanism is used to relief stress, help with trauma and many more things.

  The person who regresses is usually called a little, they sometimes have caregivers. They are like a parent to the little who helps them when they are in their little space. The caregiver can be like a friend or a partner. I know only the basics of age regression, so correct me if there's anything wrong in here.
