once the two young woman had finished collecting fruit and vegetables from the gardens, laughing and talking together as they did so, they decided to go and check on beth. marcella stayed at the doorway as maggie ventured further in, the ex scientist wanting to give her bestfriend space, along with the blonde that now lay conscious in her bed.

"hey beth, how you feeling?" maggie began, crouching down to her sister's level.

"fine." beth answered simply, however you could tell that her mental state was far from fine. maggie leaned over, placing a hand on her younger sister's cheek as she gave her a warm smile, before placing a light kiss on the girl's forehead. marcella realised how much maggie cared for beth, then; the small interaction showed the fear and worry that maggie was holding in. she hid it well, for beth's sake, but marcella could read her just as well as maggie could read marcella.

"we're gonna make you some lunch, we'll be back soon." and with that maggie left the room, marcella following close behind. yet as they reached the end of the hallway, where beth wouldn't be able to hear, marcella stopped maggie.

"you can stop, now. you can stop being strong." maggie looked to marcella confused. "you're being strong for beth, but she isn't here and you need a brake." marcella reiterated. maggie instantly took marcella into a hug, crying lightly into her shoulder as marcella hugged back.

after a good five minutes, maggie let go of her bestfriend, taking a deep breath to regain herself. "thankyou, marc." maggie smiled as best as she could. the two them walking to the kitchen where they were met with lori who had volunteered to help make beth lunch.

the three began to cut and clean the vegetables and fruit that marcella and maggie had collected earlier on, before lori spoke up, interrupting the comfortable silence.

"marcella?" she began, marcella humming in response as for lori to carry on. "did you and glenn have fun last night?" she smirked, maggie trying to stifle her laughter as she caught onto what lori was saying; the oldest of the three had noticed the love bites on marcella's neck.

marcella sighed before answering with a small laugh. "if you really want to know, then yes, we had a lot of fun." the three woman let out laughter as they cooked.
