«Qui craint de souffrir, il souffre déjà de ce qu'il craint. -La Fontaine»

«He who fears suffering is already suffering that which he fears.»

Although I hated going to school, I wouldn't say I liked sitting at home either. Two days after being dismissed from the hospital, I was feeling better. No more swollen hands, but still itchy from time to time. I felt vibrations in my skull whenever I moved my head fast, it was an annoying sensation, but I was getting used to it.

Xavier passed by each afternoon to borrow his notes. He stayed every time for a chat and left late at night. Chris also came to visit; he brought groceries and food for me since I didn't feel like going shopping. We prayed, talked, and watched a movie together. I always love listening to his ideas and his perspective on everything.

On Thursday, I decided to clean a little bit, waiting for Xavier to drop by the notes. I opened the windows, put some music on low,  and started vacuuming. I was dancing when someone knocked on my door. Xavier probably skipped a class and came early. I stopped the vacuum and trotted to the door.

"Why you're so early-."

The tall, gigantic boy in front of my door was not Xavier but rather Julian himself. He looked so different since the incident. His black hair was dyed white with the roots still black. They were wet, and locks of hair covered his blue eyes. He was so intimidating. Most of the time I saw him, I wanted to run. He was six foot 4, almost 5. When he wore tight clothes, Julian was shaped like an upside-down triangle. His shoulders were broad, and his hips were tight and narrow. I always saw him getting out of the gym at least thrice a week. He was ripped but not like bodybuilders. He was muscular and big for his age, enough to make girls go crazy about him, except me. His right forearm was wrapped around with a wrap. I supposed he just got another tattoo. Like the thousand ones, he had already wasn't sufficient.

He was standing there wearing a back hoodie, back jeans with chains, and some expensive air Jordan. Casual, but I noticed his style varies. Some days he was dressed like this. Others he was dressed like the businessman he is supposed to be. He wore many jewelry pieces: three to four-diamond necklaces. Each finger had a ring on it, which probably cost a house along with a Rolex watch and diamond bracelets. His nails were painted dark blue. I hated him but couldn't deny he took care of himself, but I felt insulted they put me against an E-boy.

"Waiting for someone?" He smiled, leaning against the wall.

God, I hate that smile.

I closed the door, but he stopped me with his massive hand.

"What the hell do you want!?"

"I just want to talk."

"Not with me, bye."

I tried again to slam the door, and he stopped me effortlessly with his feet.

"Leave me alone!" I screamed to him.

"How about you listen to what I have to say for two minutes!"

I sighed and crossed my arms.

"You got 60 seconds before I scream again."

"Fair enough. I just wanted you to know that I am extremely sorry about what happened Monday, and I apologize."

A moment's silence passed before I started laughing like a witch on crack.

"It took you three days and a makeover to finally have the guts to come here to apologize? And how exactly am I going to forgive you?"

"I was out of town."

"And that is your excuse?"

"We may not agree on a lot of things, but I am not a monster Xemina. The last thing that I want is anot-, your murder on my conscience." He rubbed his neck.

"It's that right? Your action lately has proved me the contrary."

"Then I guess it's time to put an end to this game before one of us hurt each other."

"Is that possible?" I demanded, looking at my nails.

"Extremely. Sometimes to find the peace that you want, you need to make a sacrifice."

"Come straight, Julian. What sacrifice do I have to make to find peace?" I aired quotes the word sacrifice.

"Step down. You still a minor. You can refuse to take your rightful position as a CEO, and everything will be peaceful for you."

The sound that I emitted wasn't a witch only on crack but also heroin.

"I appreciate you finally being truthful with me. However, you being too pussy to stand against me is not my problem. I don't normally wish death upon anyone, but you can respectfully go end yourself if you think I am going to abandon my dad's company because of your "threats." I am not scared of you, and whatever you do, our life will always be one against each other until we die. Deal with it. Have a good day, mon ami."

I successfully slammed the door in his face.

The audacity of males will always suppress me. I was a shock how Julian dared to come in front of my door and told me to give up on my dad? On the other hand, I felt a little bit more powerful now that I know why he was doing all of this. He was scared. I suspected that from the beginning, he didn't want to stand up to me. He looked powerful on the outside, but he was weak. That conversation had motivated me to start studying harder to squash him and ruin his company. All Julian knew how to do was Partying, banging the whole school, and flexing his wealth. He probably won't know what pi is. I was less scared of his evil pranks and threats. I am one hundred percent more confident that I could do it.

I was up to a challenge, and I am going to smash it.
