Chapter 31 (Rachael's Point of View)

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA.

I am restless, I am sweating in the AC, another one of it. I called dad and informed him that I received another one, he told me that he too and it's time that we inform Rylee about it, mom doesn't know about it yet too. My hands are shaking and I don't know how she is gonna react knowing that I hide it from her. I didn't tell Ryan too because I am afraid that he might tell Rylee and she will go berserk about the fact that she learned it from someone else. I wanted to tell Ryan, I like him but I am not moving forward without telling Rylee about it. I need her approval. Even if she is my little sister, she takes care of me like I am her little sister. She is overly protective definitely because of my bad choices in the past. It was her pulling me out of the dumps. I am thankful to her and to see to it, I didn't do anything for her. I sigh and play with my phone.
It's Wednesday today, it's already been 2-3 days that she has returned to States. We don't have the slightest idea that from who we can receive death threats or any kind of threats. I didn't dwell and I dialed Rylee's number, praying to God that she is in a good mood. Her mood fluctuate way too much, and I definitely don't imagine the time when she is on edge. After 3 rings she picks,
"Hey siso..." I can't detact her mood yet.

"Hey Rylee." my heart is beating so fast that I feel it in the back of my head and is if I can hear it.

"What's up?"

"Nothing much... Just call you, um... to discuss... uh... to tell you something."

"What's wrong Rachel, I feel you are tense."
Ofcourse she had to notice, she knows me too well and she reads people like books.

"Um.. It's very important, where are you?"

"I'm at Colin's working, we came here straight from work actually we needed to discuss something and also Colin asked me to stay at his for a while so I am staying here since we returned. But Rachael this doesn't answer my question. What's wrong? Are you okay, is that Liam still disturbing you? Is mom dad alright?"

"No,no...no Liam in the scene and yes mom dad is okay. No worries." I sigh.

"Rachael, you know you can tell me everything." her voice takes a softer yet serious tone.

"It's been a while that... that... I.. and Dad is receiving... Threats." their I said it. The other end is silent.

"Hello! Rylee? Are you still their?"

"How long has it been going?" her voice is threatening. Oh boy.

"1 and half month maybe. Mom didn't received any at least not that we know off. I received first then dad. I received it with a bill few post, my name written on the envelope and Dad's the same. We didn't tell mom because she would have freaked out and we were afraid that she will tell you. You were already in a mission we didn't wanted to mess your head. So we waited for your return. I was about to tell you when you informed that you are leaving for Europe." I paused. Rylee didn't said a word. But then she asked me a strange question.

"How long has it been the contract and partnership in the oil and global warming project with Carter is on move?"

"Huh!? What? Uhh.. 2 months... We had the meeting after you left for France."

"Who else knows about it?"
