"You're so comfortable, Rene. You make me feel safe and loved." He blushed at the comment, but his fingers only continued to stroke down her back. "I'm glad, Celine." "Responsible and good. It's no wonder ...." "No wonder what?" She yawned instead and nuzzled into his neck. Rene measured time by her slow, even breathes until he was struggling to keep his eyes open. He didn't manage to keep up the fight for long. Instead, he fell into dreams of Celine. Of her climbing on top of him and whispering that she loved him, still loved him even after his time in Vegas. That she understood why he had to leave. That it made her love him more because he wanted to do what was best for her. Her perfume danced in his head and the ghostly feel of her fingers on him brought him the sweetest dreams he'd had in years. Rene was sure that his A/C was failing considering how hot he felt. He heard a soft groanand his eyes opened. He blinked a few times as Celine came into focus. At some point, they'd moved in their sleep which had resulted with Celine slumped against Rene, almost on his lap while he had ended up half reclined on the couch. She looked at their position and blushed, running her fingers through her messy halo of hair. He was awed at how beautiful she looked, even this early in the morning, even with such stress on her shoulders.
