Rene nods without question. They get coffee and sit for a moment, as if they haven't spent hours on the plane. Celine feels overwhelmed, exhausted, and nervous – a combination thatthe coffee doesn't really help with. It just adds jitters to the whole experience. Rene clears his throat, drawing Celine's attention, then his phone rings. He answers, says a few yeses, then sighs and stows his cell. "David Foster wants to meet today instead of tomorrow." "Oh." Celine says softly. Rene gives her a tired smile. "Ready to rush?" "As ready as I can be." They hurry through the airport, throw themselves into a cab and down their coffees. Celineputs herself together just in time for their arrival at the studio. She sings from the new album they've been working on, ignoring Rene and throwing herself into every word. Despite the lack of sleep, despite everything she's been feeling and every bit of confusion, she can lose herself in the music. It calms her, empowers her, takes care of her like nothing else has or will. When she finishes she glances through the recording window and sees Rene gesturing to her with a smile, encouraging David Foster and the man nods. Rene hits a button and his voice comes through, as strong and serious as ever. "One more song Celine. Whichever song that you want." He encourages. Celine meets David Foster's eyes and gives them a title. She belts out every word, controls her range, dives into the song without hesitation. It's a more challenging one, testing her vocal range, forcing her to work hard and put in the necessary emotion so it strikes the right cord in David.
