"Yes, Mr. Angelil. I'll call." She stuck out her tongue, then took a few steps back so he could get in his car. He watched her shrink in the rearview mirror until she ran back inside. Celine was more than he'd ever deserve. Therese was right – he needed to stand aside.
Celine
Celine lost track of time while seeing to her mother. Each moment she was awake was a miracle and Celine didn't have it in her to waste it. They talked constantly and Celine worked with her every day on getting more mobile, even though her mother fought her constantly, sayingthat she didn't need help and that Celine should be out working, recording, or spending time withpeople her own age. Celine almost jumped when her door was knocked on. She pointed at her mother. "Maman, stay in the living room. I'll get you lunch in a minute." "I'm not a dog. Don't tell me to stay, little girl." Therese huffed. Rene surprised Celine, walking into the home while holding flowers. He looked to Therese who had, despite her comment, sat back down. Rene's gaze flicked to Celine and she felt her cheeks warm. "Rene." "I told you I'd reach out, but I never heard back." "Sorry, I haven't been paying attention to the phone." Celine murmured. Therese snorted. "Because you're too busy bothering me!"
