Rene

As soon as Rene arrived at home, calling Celine became his first priority. Life seems to find or craft ways to keep them apart or delay our time together. Whether it be family events forcing them to hide their feelings, work, or surprises neither of them can predict. He is ready to have a true date with Celine, a time when they can be together and explore the chemistry they have as a couple without an audience hanging on their every word or trying to put pieces together.Rene dials her number – one he memorized a longtime ago- and she picks up on the second ring. "Rene?" "Were you expecting someone else? If so, I won't tangle the line." He teases with no intention to follow through. She giggles. "You're the only one who I'll always answer for." "I'd like to ask you on a true date." He says. "I think we should celebrate New Years properly. We can exchange presents and go to dinner, then start next year on a high note." "Its sounds like you have it all planned out. Not very spontaneous." She murmurs. "As long as I am with you, I don't care what we do, Celine. You should know that by now." "And you know that I miss you already."His smile softens as it spreads over his face. He's never had someone so in tune with howhe's feeling. Celine never hesitates to tell him exactly how she's feeling, a constant reminder thatshe's determined to see their relationship through no matter what obstacles appear. "As I miss you, mon amour." He sighs. "We will be together soon. It's only a matter of days." "Too many days." She complains. "Then a week. One week, and barely that by now. We can manage that, yes?"She groans and he pictures her stretching across her bed, eyes on her ceiling. "I suppose Ican wait that long. But only because I'd wait forever if it meant I got to have you." "You are the reason my heart beats, Celine. Never doubt that I love you. I will see you soon." He hangs up the phone and stares at it a moment longer. What is it about Celine that makes him feel like a young man all over again? He shakes his head to himself and keeps busy with work and wishing his family a happy holiday season until finally, finally New Year's Eve arrives. Rene calls Celine to make sure she remembers and can hear her struggling with something in the background. Before he can ask what exactly she's doing, she urges him to hurryup and come over. Shrugging, he puts his overnight bag in his car and heads to Celine's home. As he drives, he decides to speak to her parents before he leaves. He's known since their first kiss, that first shared night together that there is no one in the world except Celine for him.
