Once they're both warm inside, he takes her hand tightly, lacing their fingers together. "I'm so happy you're coming with me, Celine. This will be a night you won't forget. I promise you that." She giggles and bounces a little. "I'm with you, that makes it an amazing night to start with." "I love you." He says and Celine can't believe that she'll ever get tired of hearing that. It's just too wonderful.
Rene
The hour's drive to the venue isn't boring. Celine sings along to the radio, they talk about
what to expect, what's happened in last years, the drama, the fun, everything. They laugh at the end of one of Rene's stories as they pull up to the venue. It looks magical, just as Rene hoped it would. He rushes around the valet to get the door for Celine. He offers his hand to help her get out and she graciously accepts. He feels her fingers tighten on his and sighs as he remembers that they can't exactly do this all night. "As much as I would love to keep your hand in mine all night ..." He trails off. "I know, love. It's alright." Her fingers slip away to pull her dress up so she doesn't step on it. Rene wants to take it back right away. Even though he wants to touch her, to make it clear to the world that he and Celine are together, the consequences of that can't be ignored. He makes do for walking in side-by-side.
