But just like every time she sings, she owns the room and everyone in it. She sings Oh Holy Night and it carries everyone away on her voice. Celine's gaze keeps flicking around the room until some people get up and dance. Rene's jerked up by one of his children to join in, but his eyes only find Celine. She smiles at him without missing a note as everyone dances slowly. When Rene notices his ex-wife and her new husband slow dancing along with some of the other couples a pang of jealousy shoots through him. It's not fair that he can't share this same moment with Celine. No matter what anyone sings, he has to keep his hands to himself and it's torture. He's missed her for so long and now she's right here, in the same room, within touching distance and he can't pull her against him andsmother her under a kiss that would show just how much he's missed her. But with all the people here, including his own family, it would be irresponsible, almost rude to potentially start a fight or any bout of negativity. When Celine finishes, Rene's the first to start clapping. She comes over and he smiles. "That was beautiful, Celine." "Oh, we can beat that!" Mike, her brother says before belting out – terribly off key – a faster song. Rene chuckles and grabs a drink, sipping slowly as he stands next to Celine. Her warmth rolls off her and it's nearly impossible to keep from touching her. She bites her lip and Rene can feel his restraint start to give. "This is quite the party." He says while clearing his throat.
