Celine
After the campfire and a few days of talking about Dublin, Celine bounces into Rene's car. She still can't believe that it's happening, that she's going to Dublin to perform for such a huge event. It's still catching up with her as she boards the plane with Rene. She asks at least five time what to expect, but each time Rene smiles and reminds he hasn't been. It's a first for them both. Only on the drive to the hotel does it seem to actually hit Celine that she's out of the country. Dublin is beautiful, green, fresh. In the hotel room, she stares out the window every chance she gets to drink in the scenery. In a whirl, Rene pulls her out of the hotel after he registers her for the contest and insists on touring the city and countryside together. An adventure that brings them together, laughing, taking pictures, saving every memory for when they get back. Celine finds every reason to touch Rene. She takes his hand when she's afraid she'll lose him, when she wants to show him something, when the crowd gets too thick. But she notices thatRene never squeezes her hand. He always pulls away first. Before she can think on it too hard, they're at rehearsals, racing through interviews. Every day has more and more and more to do. Until after rehearsals on the second day. Rene grins at her and takes her hand. There's no reason for him to. They're alone, not in any risk of losing each other, but his long fingers wrap around hers and pull her close. Celine feels the blush rip across her cheeks as she tucks her hair behind her ear.
