-Y/N's POV-
What would we do if Kureto showed up?

"Knowing Kureto he's not going to take no for an answer, the most we could do is hold him off for a while." Adora suggested,

"That'd mean we'd have no choice but to leave and not to the safe house since we don't know whether he knows where it is or not." Guren sighed,

"Where would we go though?" I asked,

"I'll have to think about that, let's hope he doesn't show up today."

"Damn, don't you have multiple houses?" Adora crossed her arms, a disappointed glare on her face,

"Right? Even my father did." I rolled my eyes,

"Since when was my family liked enough by the Hiragis to be as rich as your father." Guren huffed, "How about you ask him if we can borrow one of his houses?" He continued, sarcastically,

"Wait your father was rich? What's your family name?" Adora asked,

"L/N, haven't you looked at any of my records?"

Her face showed silent shock, "I have but it never occurred to me, sorry I forgot you were supposed to get married to Kureto." She facepalmed herself,

"Even you have your slow moments, huh Dr Iori?" Guren leaned back on his chair, folding his arms,

I thwacked his arm, earning a glare from him, "Cut her some slack, at least she's a doctor, what do you do?" I already knew the answer to that, Guren is a really good scientist and had been working with Adora's older sister since he was 16, not to mention he's a Lieutenant Colonel,

"Y/N's just slow."

"Ignore him, Y/N." Adora stood up, placing her head against the crown of mine and affectionately petting my hair, "I can get you the special menu that isn't bad here, what would you like?"

"Oh you'd do that?" My lip jutted forward in appreciation,

"Of course!" She cooed,

"Hm, surprise me!"

Guren stared at us in disbelief, "Since when did you two get this close?"

"Since she acknowledged my hard work," she lowered her voice to a whisper, "Convince him to let you get access to his bank account, I need a raise!"

"I've been trying to convince him that he owes me ¥32,000 which isn't even that much but he won't budge, the man is stingy!" I responded in a hushed voice,

"You're still not over that?" He scoffed,

"Nope, I have nothing to my name but my weapon,"

"Oh the poor girl!" Adora stopped, "Hm, but knowing Guren he would probably spoil you like a princess if you asked," she hummed to herself but it was still loud enough for the two of us to hear,

"Wouldn't you Guren?" She continued,

Guren looked away, a slight tinge of red dusting his cheeks, "Since you won't get me anything I'll go myself," he changed the subject back to food, getting up and heading for the door,

Adora frowned, "No, you're supposed to starve, and I need to get Y/N's gas and air; she's suffering here!" She followed him out the door, leaving me alone in the room,

It was very endearing to see Guren try to hide his embarrassment, the act itself made my own cheeks heat up considering how it was a rare sight in itself. I laid back and closed my eyes, even though I'd just woken up from being unconscious I still felt exhausted and pretty weak; the only thing preventing me from sleeping properly was the constant ache in my ribs.

I laid there for quite some time before Adora returned wheeling in a tank along with the mouthpiece.

"I got your gas!" She announced her arrival,

"Ah, I can maybe sleep now," I sighed,

"You must be tired, here-" she handed me the mouth piece, "If you feel giggly stop taking it and I'll put you on an IV instead, it may take you a while for you to notice though." She warned,

"Thanks, Adora!" I sighed in relief, inhaling with the mouthpiece and slowly but surely I felt myself relaxing, the pain wasn't entirely gone and still lingering but I guess that was expected, especially considering how I'd just got the gas; although I couldn't help but expect it to have an immediate effect, just the thought made me chuckle at my own naivety. Adora's head spun round to look at me, making me stop immediately.

"I expected it to work as soon as I got it, and now that I think about it I feel dumb." I explained in my defence,

"I can't blame you, especially since you've been in pain for so long but it'll work soon don't worry." Adora reassured me, but I knew she was silently giving me my last chance.

Even if I wasn't having random outbursts of laughter it was evident that the gas and air had made me more easily amused by things, especially as soon as the door slid open to reveal Guren with a plate of food. I couldn't help but snort before succumbing to the laughing fit that overtook me; it didn't last long though, as I quickly doubled over in pain- a reminder that nothing should be funny considering the condition that I'm in.

Guren looked at me incredulously, "What? Were you talking about me?"

Adora handed her hand out for me and I sullenly surrendered the mouthpiece to her, "Nope, Y/N's getting the drip." She shook her head,

Guren seemed to understand as he slowly nodded, heading over to his previous seat,

"I'll have to get the nurse to give it to you as I have to prepare for a surgery now."

"Okay, shoo!" Guren waved her off,

Adora ignored him, "Goodbye Y/N, my love." She waved, leaving the room,

I blew her an over dramatic kiss and Guren rolled his eyes.

I sighed, looking over at Guren, a sly grin on my face, "Can I have some?" I looked down at his food and back up at him with puppy eyes,

He frowned, "I thought your girlfriend was going to get you some."

"My girlfriend is too busy she forgot," I frowned back and he scoffed, "Besides, I prefer food from my boyfriend,"

A small smile crept onto his face, "Are you saying that because Adora said I would spoil you?"

"Well would you? You looked kinda cute when she said that." I grinned at him,

"Hmph, you haven't told me you wanted anything- apart from the money."

"Well if you'll get me what I want I don't need the money." I felt my cheeks warm up, "There's also nothing I really want anyway," I thought for a while, "Maybe some baby stuff,"

"Really, there's nothing else you want?"

"Even though my parents were assholes, I was kind of spoiled when I was younger, but I just slowly lost interest in materialistic things." I shrugged,

"That makes sense I guess, in this kind of life we don't really have time for such anyway."

"I'm assuming you were forced to grow up?"

He nodded, taking a last bite out of his food before handing the rest to me, "Yup, I had to train to be the head
