-Y/N's POV-
I sat quietly on my bed, staring at my rifle in gloom.
It had been a long time since I'd used it, let alone even communicated with D/N and I knew he'd be PISSED.

"Here goes nothing..." I muttered to myself closing my eyes, channelling all my concentration to communicating with my demon,

I breathed a sigh of relief when I reached the familiar white abyss; turning around to meet the demon who was staring me right in the eyes,

"You finally show up." He raised an eyebrow,

I cringed but said nothing,

"After years of being neglected, you came along and here I foolishly thought that there would be someone to finally utilise my abilities- only for you to disappear." He glared at me in disdain,

"Couldn't you have just forced me to speak to you in my sleep like you usually do?" I suggested, awkwardly,

"I stopped doing that, because I thought it wasn't very pleasant for you." He pouted, crossing his arms,

My heart dropped, D/N was trying to be considerate to me, yet I hadn't even thought about how he'd feel if I'd stopped all communication suddenly, I sighed, "I'm so sorry, D/N. I really am. You know the situation don't you?"

His harshness dropped a bit, "I do."

"You know that I probably won't be using you for a while, right." I edged,

"Well I guess it can't be helped."

"Do you want me to give you away to someone who'll use you properly. I'm a bad owner for neglecting you in the first place- you deserve better." I gave him an apologetic look, lowering my gaze to stare at my feet,

He was silent for a while, before I felt a sharp pain on my forehead, I yelped only to realise he had flicked me on my forehead,

"You've become soft..." he muttered, "Hey, if I wanted to void my contract with you, I would've possessed you- you haven't been in the most stable mental state, you know?" He pouted, crossing his arms as a way of hiding the fact that he'd stopped trying to possess me,

I stayed silent, a small smile creeping up on my face,

"I won't possess you, and I don't want a new owner. Friends don't do that do they? I will wait for you; but in the meantime don't neglect me. Got it?!" He turned away from me, avoiding eye contact,

I shyly smiled, "Thanks D/N, I promise not to neglect you again."

He turned to face me, appearing embarrassed, "Thanks for talking to me. I'm glad we settled that."

"It's ok, if you need to talk to me, just pull me out of a dream; don't make it a nightmare though; that's just terrifying." I proposed patting his head,

"I'll keep that in mind." He nodded, "Now if you'll excuse me, I have important business to attend."

I stared at him in disbelief, "All that nagging when you're actually booked and busy in the demon realm?" I scoffed, "You're already pissing me off."

"Not my fault you literally have no life; you should be grateful that I'm willing to make time for you without you having to book an appointment." He sighed, faking sorrow, "Without me you'd be pretty much alone."

"Book an appointment? Alone? Hm, since your so busy I'll see you in another 6 years. Maybe when you finally lose your credibility as a somewhat powerful demon, you'll learn not to bite the hand that feeds you." I seethed narrowing my eyes at him,

"Bold of you to assume that your validation even contributes to my credibility. You'll be lucky to see me within the next 14 years, let alone 6." He cheekily winked at me, with a sense of accomplishment, "Well then..." he waved and was gone as I woke up. I didn't hesitate to hit the mattress in frustration as I sat up, before I jumped off and left my room to join the others downstairs,
