Epiphany ~ Chapter 17.

-Y/N's POV-
My eyes were fixated on the town square below as I waited for the squad below to give me any further instructions. Shigure stood by the door, with Nico who she tried to entertain with a conversation. Funnily enough, Shigure had also taken a quick liking to Nico, she smiled more often than usual when she was talking with him and also appeared to be less emotionless with him too.

"Are you guys gonna do anything? I'm getting bored over here." I taunted them through the phone,

"You offered to go up there." Guren retorted,

"Can I at least get the vampires standing guard?" I referred to the vampires who weren't exactly in view shot of the others, but were standing, ready to backup their peers if needed, "If you ask me, they really have no business just standing around,"

"Go ahead." Guren gave me the green light,

"Ok, D/N," I called my demon to action,

"Got it." He replied enthusiastically, "There's quite a few of them so we're gonna have to get rid of multiple at the same time," As he said that, 4 thin, streaks of purple shot out from the rifle, taking out 4 vampires below,

Their counterparts looked alarmed at the sudden attack, although I was quick to pull the trigger again before they could inform the rest of the vampires; soon enough I had gotten rid of the surrounding vampires just in time, so when the ones having a stand-off with the rest of the squad turned to them for backup, there was no one there and that was then the others attacked full force.

"Good job, Y/N. But there's still a good chance they might call for backup." I heard Guren through the phone,

"Don't worry, I've got a pretty good view from up here so I got that covered." I thought for a while, what if they had a device that allowed them to communicate with nearby vampires, "I'll also take out anyone who's too idle for my liking."

I shot a vampire who seemed to be distancing themselves from the commotion below, it won't be long until they discover me from up here,

As I focused on the scene below more, I noticed that the squad had split up into smaller groups, in order to take out the vampires much quicker; there was around 5 left. Goshi was helping Sayuri and Mito by forming illusions as they were more close range combatants, although I saw a vampire turning towards him,

"Guren, there's a vampire behind Goshi. I'm going to take care of it though." I warned,

I heard Guren yell at Goshi to move out the way, which he did just in time just before the vampire was shot. As it disappeared, another vampire clashing swords with Guren who'd seen her comrade disintegrate into nothing, turned her head in my direction and somehow we managed to make eye contact,

"Oopsie, looks like I've been spotted." I smirked,

"Don't turn your attention away from a fight" I heard Guren yell at her before he kicked the vampire and fatally slashing her.

3 left.

"Ask Shinya if he wants my help, I know close range isn't ideal for him." I sighed, as I saw him holding a vampire back with his gun,

"Shut up, Y/N." He yelled back as Guren reported back to him what I said,

"I can't bare to watch it. I'll try not to hit him." I aimed my gun at the vampire who was currently having a standoff with Shinya and fired,

It did take it out but simultaneously, narrowly missed Shinya, I watched him storm up to Guren and grab the phone from him, "When you come down from there you're dead."

"Is that a threat?" I chuckled, "Kill me later, shouldn't you be helping the others."

"Y/N, we might have a problem." I heard Shigure whisper-yell from behind me,
