Epiphany ~ Chapter 15.

-Y/N's POV-
After a while of searching and trekking we had found ourselves in a little village in the countryside.

"Nico, does this look familiar to you?" I looked up at the young boy who was currently on Guren's shoulders eating ice cream, you'd honestly believe he was on vacation at the moment,

Speaking of which, the others were surprised with how close Guren was with Nico, considering how he usually treated the younger recruits.

Nico thought for a while, "It kinda looks like where I used to live." He mumbled thoughtfully,

"Hm we're not doing too bad then..." Goshi sighed, as we entered the village,

Of course there weren't many people walking around considering a nationwide warning advising people to avoid hanging around the streets, regardless we did see a few shops open and decided we'd go in and ask a few,

The first shop we entered was owned by a couple who just recently moved and wouldn't know who Nico was, we still thanked them and continued on our search.

"This village looks peaceful enough, should we split up?" Shigure finally suggested, "It'll make the search quicker and we can move onto the next one if needed."

"That doesn't sound like a bad idea." Guren nodded,

"In that case, I'll team up with Shigure! Catch ya later!" Goshi cheesed throwing his arm around her,

"I don't know what you're expecting to get from this but I can guarantee that it'll not happen." She frowned walking away, not bothering to object to the pairing,

Goshi followed after her, "Oh come on, who said I was expecting anything." He argued,

"That leaves us 3 then." I muttered,

"It does doesn't it." Guren briefly smiled at me, as he put Nico on his feet, "Let's go."

We walked to the next shop which happened to be a bakery not far from the last,

"Hm, I think I've been here before." Nico stopped and stared at the shop for a while,

"Really?" I exclaimed, "Should we go see who it is then?" I held out my hand for him and he took it as he nodded enthusiastically,

We entered the bakery and the smell of baked goods filled my senses,

"Hello!" We both greeted the elderly woman who appeared to own the store, she greeted us back,

"My- I haven't had a young family for quite a while." She smiled at us,

"Oh, we're not actually a family, we wanted to ask you about that actual-" I began although was interrupted by Nico's sudden outburst,

"Granny?" He looked up at the old woman his head cocked to the side,

"Oh-" she appeared to be confused, and came around to observe him, "Nico, dear is that you?" She seemed startled,

He nodded, "Yes it's me!" He announced, clutching onto the old woman with a big grin, she embraced him back,

"It seems like you know each other." Guren stated,

"Oh, I've known this young one since he was born! I also knew his parents too- it was a shame what happened between them but I didn't expect him to go and find new parents." She chuckled,

"Well the thing is-" we explained how we met Nico, what happened to his father and how we were trying to find his mother, the old lady listened intently, nodding her head as we narrated the whole scenario,

"The poor chap has been through a lot hasn't he?" She said wistfully, "You see Nico's father was quite the troublemaker, he ended up taking off with the poor boy when he was very young," she nodded,
