-Y/N's POV-
The mood was now somber as we trekked to the next village in search of Nico's mother. The young boy in question was currently clutching onto my hand, however he could tell something wasn't right with the current mood.

He tugged on my shirt to get my attention, I looked down at him and he raised his hands up signalling for me to pick him up; I couldn't help but smile at how cute he was, "What's up, cutie?"

He brought his face close to my ear, "Why's everybody so sad?" He whispered, I couldn't help but wince slightly at his breath tickling my ear,

I turned my head to whisper back to him, "You see, fighting those scary guys usually makes everyone a bit sad afterwards." I explained,

"But you won?" He cocked his head to the side,

"Of course, but everyone was scared that someone would get hurt," I finished.

I had told a bit of a lie, while that was somewhat true for everyone else, something about Guren and the two progenitors bothered me. Shinya had also caught wind of the situation but didn't mention anything for the sake of peace; although the tension was most definitely still there.

"I see..." I felt Nico's breathy whisper against my ear again,

"I'm glad!" I whispered back into his ear, equally as breathy only for him to loudly squeal,

All eyes turned to us, as the others smiled in adoration at the boy,

"You two having fun back there?" Shinya looked at us, slightly entertained,

"Ah, Y/N that felt weird." Nico squirmed, giggling.

"It does doesn't it? It also felt weird when you did it," I grinned at him, tickling his stomach.

"Jeez." I heard Guren from next to me, but when I looked at him he was shaking his head, chuckling to himself, lightheartedly. I smiled to myself at that. I couldn't help but what it'll be like when Guren and I have our own family.

"We're here!" Kai announced, "Time to split up again." Little did he know, his assigned group was already heading up a hill, completely disregarding what he'd just said,

"Hey guys, wait up!" He yelled, jogging towards them, leaving our group of 5 behind.

"Let's go, we should stick together as a group of 5 this time." Goshi suggested, sighing,

"Why? Did the vampires shake you up?" Shigure deadpanned,

"Huh?" His head spun in her direction as he began to scold her as we walked past a market,

Nico was quiet for a while, his eyes never leaving the market place until we walked past,

"Oh, I remember." He muttered, halting the bickering Goshi and Shigure, causing everyone to turn to him,

"What do you remember, Nico?" Guren asked,

"My grandma worked here, she gave us a lot of stuff when we came here."

"Oh should we go see if she's still there?" I suggested,

Guren grabbed my hand, "It's very unlikely she'd still be here." He whispered, making me silently sigh,

"I remember the way to her house!" Nico announced,

"Ok, you can give us directions." I suggested, instead, not keen on letting him walk ahead in case of another threat.

Nico gave us directions and soon enough we reached a small dainty cottage, and as Nico previously described there was a farm, with a collection of animals some free to roam around like chickens and others in their large assigned pens.
