A/N - Turns out, one chapter wasn't enough to get all the emotions out, and I just wanted to rewrite everything in the MCU so that Wanda had someone to support her for once. I hope you all enjoy it.
From the moment you had first sworn to Wanda that you would be at her side, you had been determined to keep your promise. You had been there when she had confessed to herself that she had fallen in love with Vision. And you'd been there when she had had to take his life from him to save the rest of the world. You'd watched as she had torn herself apart, the pain and ripping through her as she destroyed the one person she had ever loved, and it had broken your heart that you couldn't find an alternative for her. You'd gripped her hand in yours as she slowly turned to dust, the fear completely gone from her eyes as she all but died in your arms.
God, it had been the hardest weeks of your life after that. Knowing that you couldn't save her; that you couldn't change the outcome and give her the life she was so desperate to live. You were lucky that you still had Steve, that the two of you were well versed in supporting each other through tough times, even if they had never been quite this tough before.
Most nights, you would just curl into his side in bed, head cradled against his chest as you attempted to make sense of the new world you had been forced to live in. And he would hold you close, far too aware of the way your mind was in the process of torturing you. It would play the scenario over and over again in your head, forcing you to search for something, anything, you could have done differently.
Eventually, Steve would fall asleep, and you would just stay there, staring at the ceiling until you were so exhausted that you couldn't keep your eyes open anymore. And then when you got up the next morning, after only a couple of hours of restless sleep, you would stumble through this odd world that had been created overnight, not fully awake as you attempted to find some way to reverse what had happened.

When Wanda had stepped through the portal onto the battlefield, her hands glowing red, you had let out a choked sob. Of course, you had been longing for everyone to come back to you, but you had become so close to Wanda whilst you were on the run, that she had become the little sister you had always wanted.
You had thrown yourself at her the moment she had gotten close enough, causing her to flinch as you wrapped your arms around her.
"Y/N," she finally cried out, twisting to pull you into a tight hug. You dodged one of Thanos' creatures as you released her from your embrace, only separating for long enough for her to use her powers to tear it to shreds. And then you were holding her face in your hands, your thumb running over her cheek as you absorbed her features again.
"I missed you so much," you murmured, watching tears form in her eyes. "I thought about you every day," you pressed on. You sniffled, releasing her face to wipe the tears from your eyes. "I'm just so glad you're back-"
Wanda smiled slightly, holding your hand in hers as she pulled you out of the way of a careening monster. "I couldn't leave you to face the end of the world alone. I promised."
*Time Skip*
Wanda was gripping onto your hand like a lost child as you walked into the S.W.O.R.D. building, fingers linked as she dragged you towards the front desk. From the moment she had suggested going to see Vision, you had been a little worried. You couldn't imagine what she was going through, and you didn't want to assume that you knew her feelings better than she did, but you couldn't help but think she would regret whatever it was she got to see.
You both hesitated as you reached the reception desk, and you grasped her fingers a little tighter in your own. "We can still just go home," you murmured, watching as she glanced up at you, a little lost.
