A/N - This chapter was requested by user: @anniebellchase. I ended up using the song 'Relax, Take it Easy' by Mika for a little bit of inspiration whilst I was writing. Reader! is a student, and I ended up making her study Psychology because I studied it for a while and understand the stress of trying to revise and memorise all the different names and studies! I hope you all enjoy it.

You released a deep sigh as your eyes ran over the same paragraph for the 12th time in the last 5 minutes. This was starting to get ridiculous. I mean, why would you ever need to know anything about the McGurk effect anyway? Your head tipped back over the back of your seat, and your eyes dropped closed as you attempted to push the stress, that had been growing all morning, back down.

"You good, Angel?" Steve voice was enough to calm you somewhat, and you hummed out a half-arsed agreement to his question. "When was the last time you took a break?"

Your shrugged as you finally opened your eyes to look at him, finding him with his brows all furrowed like a concerned parent, watching you carefully. "I had that coffee break-"

"Baby," he uttered. "That was three hours ago."

You glanced over at the clock for a second. Jesus, how hadn't you noticed the time? How had you even managed to sit here staring at the same textbook for so long and not realise? "Shit," you murmured, stretching out your spine slightly as your eyes flickered back to the book in front of you.

"Come on," he started, pushing off of the sofa and coming over to close the book, marking your place with one of the little sticky labels that you'd grown so fond of over the last couple of weeks. "Let's take a break, Sweetheart."

"Steve," you whined. "I've got a week before my final, and I've still got so much to cover-"

"And if you're stressed out you won't take in any of it. So take a break, relax a little bit, and come back to it later." He waited for a response watching as you grappled with the idea set out in front of you. "I promise I won't make you stay away from the books for long, but you need to take some time for yourself, or it'll end up making you sick, Angel."

You finally nodded, letting him pull you to your feet and steer you away from the textbook. "What're we doing?"

"I don't mind, Baby. We can do whatever you want." He glanced at his watch for a moment. "We could go and grab lunch. Or go down to the park. Or-"

You chuckled slightly, and he returned his attention to you as you wrapped your arms around his middle, tucking your chin against his chest. "Or we could just stay here and watch a movie? Cuddle? Make popcorn?"

"Well-" he paused, leaning down to press a kiss to your forehead, "-as long as it means you aren't sitting at that desk, I'll do whatever you want."

A small smile pulled at your lips at his comment. "Movie it is, then," you hummed, leaning up onto your tiptoes to give him a chaste kiss. "But you're on popcorn duty," you added, releasing him and letting yourself fall back onto the couch.

He chuckled, resigned to his fate as he made his way into the kitchen. You flicked through a streaming site as you waited for him, hesitating on a couple of movies you hadn't seen yet, before eventually giving in a going straight back to one of your favourites. A comfort movie you'd seen umpteen times already, and would probably never stop enjoying until the end of time.

When Steve returned, it was with one of the brightest smiles you had ever seen, and he simply shook his head when he saw the film you'd settled on. "Again?" he teased, nudging you a little so that he could slip onto the couch behind you, letting you rest your back against his chest.

"We can watch something else-" you started softly, only hesitating when Steve took the remote from your hand and hit play. "You can choose something else-"

"Angel, if this is what you want to watch, then this is what we'll watch," he told you, pressing a kiss to the back of your head as he placed the bowl of popcorn in your lap.

You felt your entire body relax as his arms wrapped around you, your back pressed to his chest and your head leaning against his shoulder.

You'd stayed that way as the movie played, every now and then shifting to feed him some of the popcorn, and by the time the credits began to roll, you felt far more peaceful than you had in weeks.

"This was nice," you murmured, releasing a soft, content sigh as you tilted your head to look back at him. He hummed his agreement, his fingers linking with yours and dragging your hand up to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss to your knuckles.

"Five more minutes and you can go back to work," he told you, listening to the soft whine that slipped out of you.

You held onto his hand a little tighter, dragging his arm around you to keep yourself as close to him as possible. "I don't want to," you groaned and, without even looking, Steve knew you were pouting at the idea of having to move from the comfortable spot you'd found yourselves in.

"Nuh uh," he muttered, unable to keep the smile from his lips. "We made a deal, Angel. One movie, and then back to studying."

"But-"

"Come on. Just two more hours of work and you can call it a night. We can spend the rest of the evening just like this. I promise."

You stayed quiet for a moment, contemplating the option in front of you. You really did need to get some work done, and if you didn't do it now, you'd be restless all night thinking about it. "Fine," you sighed, sitting up with a soft grumble. "But I expect you to be right here waiting for me the second I'm finished."

Steve chuckled as you glanced back at him, looking more relaxed than he had seen you in weeks. "You've got yourself a deal, Sweetheart."

It was only then that you smiled, leaning down to give him a chaste kiss before moving back over to the dinner table that you'd turned into your make-shift desk. "I'll see you in two hours," you called back to him before settling in to finish your revision.
