A/N - This chapter is based on the song 'You Need To Calm Down' by Taylor Swift. Reader! became a real princess at some point along the way, but I think it kind of worked for the relationship. I hope you all enjoy it.

It's still so mad to me that Captain America settled for someone like Y/N. Perhaps it hadn't been a good idea to go on Twitter before you even got a chance to have your breakfast. I mean, it wasn't like you weren't used to shitty little comments about your relationship, but damn, it wasn't even 7 AM yet and you were already having to deal with people you'd never even met telling you that your boyfriend was completely and utterly out of your league.

Yeah, who would choose Y/N when they could have Natasha Romanoff? Those comments were always the worst. Nat was your friend and she had been long before you'd even started dating Steve, but it was still a punch in the gut when people compared you on the internet. And it wasn't just Nat either. Any woman that had ever been seen interacting with Steve was dragged into the conversation, and God, even half the men he spent time with were being included.

Steve plucked the phone out of your hand, placing it down on the bedside table as he wrapped his arm around you, pressing his lips to your shoulder. "Quit reading that crap," he murmured against your skin, his voice still thick with sleep. You sank back into him, absorbing as much of his warmth as you could manage. "Did you sleep well, Sweetheart?" he pressed on, attempting to lure your mind away from the tweets that you'd been enduring from the moment the first paparazzi had spotted the two of you out together.

You hummed out a non-committal response. "If I say no, will you let me stay in bed all day?"

He chuckled, his breath fanning out over your shoulders, and then he was pushing up on his elbow to look down at you, a bright smile on his face. "We've got stuff to do-" You interrupted him with a loud groan, letting your eyes drop closed as over-dramatically as you could manage. "What if I promise you a coffee?"

You peaked one eye open, squinting it up at him. "I'm listening."

"And you get to choose the music in the car?"

Your other eye opened as you pretended to consider his proposition. "I think I can make that work," you hummed, craning your neck to press a quick kiss to his lips.

Steve was grinning when you pulled away, his eyes focused on your face as he let out a content sigh. "Well, I'm very happy to hear that," he told you. He kissed you again, and then he was slipping out of the bed, leaving you whining over the rush of cold air that replaced him. "Come on, Sweetheart. Up."

You did as you were told, grumbling as you crawled out from under the covers. "It's cold," you muttered, listening to Steve chuckle as he began pulling his clothes from the wardrobe.

"It's January, Baby. What were you expecting?" he teased. "Tell you what? The quicker we get out and get these errands run, the quicker we can come back here and get all cosy on the couch. Maybe with a blanket, and a movie, and-"

"Steve," you hummed softly, interrupting the stream of words coming from him. "It's 7 AM; this is my top speed for this time of the morning. No amount of bribery is going to change that," you told him, feeling his arms wrap around your middle as he moved up behind you.

"I know," he murmured, his voice close to your ear as you shuffled through your wardrobe, looking for something warm to wear. "But there's no harm in trying to persuade you, is there Sweetheart?"

You chuckled slightly, finally retrieving the jumper you'd been searching for. "The fact that you've even got me out of bed at this point is already a miracle. Don't push your luck," you told him, untangling yourself from his arms to make your way into the bathroom, leaving him laughing behind you.
