For the whole of the next week I spent at Leighton's. Hardly ever leaving the bedroom, apart from school; picking up fresh clothes; eating and showering, oh and not forgetting pee breaks. It was heaven. We couldn't keep our hands off each other after that first night. The next morning, I woke to an empty bed. Hmm I wonder where he could be. The whole house was silent, not a sound.

I decided to go have a shower. He'll be back, Im sure of it. After my shower I got changed into my last spare set of clothes I brought and sat watching music videos. My phone started buzzing. I answered it.

"Hey, Gracie, it's Taylor! Listen Leighton's had to go on a trip with his Mum. Get yourself ready. I'll pick you up in five." And the phone went dead.

Damn! Another meeting already. He only went away two weeks ago. I gathered my things and headed down the stairs and out the door. The sun was out and it was beautiful and hot. I turned my face up at the sky with my eyes closed, soaking up the rays.

Jumping at the sound of a car horn. I turned around to see Taylor's car pulling up beside me. I looked to see him smiling at me. "Hop in, beautiful. Let's get you some breakfast." I nodded, my belly was growling.

We stopped off at a café and we both had a full English. Taylor scoffed his down fast. It's a wonder it even touched the sides. I, on the other hand, took my time savouring every last morsel.

I looked up to see him staring at me. "Listen you wanna come to a works do tonight? I have to take someone with me.

I nodded. "Sure I'd love to go with you." He smiled.

"That's it then, you shall go to the ball, Cinderella." I laughed. I've read that story when I was young and it was all kinda true, except, I didn't have a wicked step mother.

I was sitting examining my sausage and Taylor was looking at me strange. "You ok, princess?"

I nodded. Smiling. "Yeah, I'm great, hon." He smiled his charming smile.

I really was great, in fact, I was awesome. I felt different too. I felt sexy. Like a woman, a vivacious women, and proud.

After we ate our breakfast we went for a drive and walked along the river bank. It was nice to get some space, some time to think and Taylor was as always great company.

"So what's going on, princess? You seem different."

I shook my head. "No, I'm no different. What do you mean by different?"

"I meant it in a good way. You seem different, in the respect of you're holding your head up high. You seem happy." He hugged me.

"I am feeling different for sure, and very happy." He snapped his fingers like he had a thought. I was waiting for the light bulb above his head, but he said nothing. Nevertheless, there were things I needed to know.

"Taylor can I talk to you about something personal? I tried talking to Jo but she's the same as me, she doesn't know." He looked at me concerned, but smiled anyway.

"Sure you can ask me anything, you know that." I felt really embarrassed, and I know it probably showed on my face too. He rubbed my arm and I felt relaxed again.

Ok here goes. I know I'm gonna make myself sound like a right twatt. "Is sex the same for a vampire as it is a human?" He laughed. Darn! I felt like a right plank now. I wanted to run. Dammit, I was so thick. I turned around to walk away.

Taylor grabbed my arm. "Gracie, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh. It's just you're so worldly and have such a good head on you, I thought you would have known."

I shook my head. "No, I don't." He got me to sit down and sat next to me. "Well, sex is something great for anyone. It don't matter what you are."
I flushed remembering the past week with Leighton. Taylor smiled like he to saw the visions. "But from my experience for a vampire, it's very sensual, even addictive! Just like blood is. Therefore we like to combine them. It's like watching fireworks, that's how our bodies feel inside."

I was perplexed. "So having sex for a vampire is like a human watching fireworks?" He was in stitches.

"Oh, Gracie, you crack me up. No, it's just a metaphor. I could teach you if you want." I blushed again, and thought it time to change the subject.

"Hey if we're going out tonight, we best get back so I can get ready." The drive home was definitely a quiet one as I went over what Taylor had said.

"I could teach you!" What the hell? Really? I must admit it was tempting, but no way. I couldn't do that to Leighton, or could I? I mean just to learn new things. No! No! No! Get the flipping thought out your head now. It ain't gonna happen.

I spent the next hour on the phone with Leighton. He apologised for running out on me, his parent's had some business and required his help.

He said he would make it up to me when he got back, which should be in a few days.

I longed to be in his arms, to feel his warmth against me and kiss those gorgeous lips. I really did miss him. I felt like a part of me was empty without him.

I pushed away the feelings by concentrating on tonight's event. It was an awards ceremony for entrepreneurs. Taylor, himself, was a self-made business man and his business had been nominated. He didn't really say what his buisness was about, but I'm sure it was grand.

It was a black dress event, so I looked in the wardrobe. I pulled out a very elegant black velvet dress. I looked at it on, and felt a lot older than I was, this was some dress for an eighteen-year-old.

I did my hair up in a sophisticated plait, well tried anyway. Applied the smallest amount of makeup, and I was ready to go. It was at some fancy hotel called Macdonald Randolph, when he told me I could have sworn blind he said he was taking me to McDonald's.

I could have demolished a Big Mac now, washed down with a banana milkshake, I had a little giggle to myself.

I walked down to find Taylor waiting for me. He looked like a penguin, but an extremely handsome one. He took one look at me and spun me around in a pirouette. He was so very charming.

What weirded me out tonight, was it was just us at home, the others had disappeared too.

Leighton and his parent's, Jo and her parent's bugger off at the same time. Hmm, suspicious but hey. Maybe that's a vampire thing. I was just a boring human, but tonight I was painting the town red.
