The morning couldn't have come more quickly. I opened my eyes and wished I had dark sunglasses. I giggled to myself. Will my eyes ever get use to it?

I must just be super sensitive. I always assumed vampires had amazing eyesight day or night. Yet here I was wishing I could glued my eyes shut. I giggled inwardly.

I got out of bed and looked out the window, the view was stunning, I could get use to this! "Gracie, It's eight am. Breakfast is ready!" I was dreading going down looking at my Mum, watching her deteriorate before my eyes.

"Ok, Mum, I'm coming." I scooped up some clothes out my case and headed to the bathroom. I showered, dressed, dabbed on half a tub of Vicks before heading downstairs.

Mum seemed a lot more lively today, which was nice to see, but you could still see the strain in her face. Piled high on a plate in the middle of the table were pancakes, bacon and eggs. Mmm it was delicious.

She looked across the table at me. "Still got a healthy appetite I see."

I laughed "Yeah, Mum, I'm still that  chunky girl!"

She shook her head. "No you're not honey, you have lost loads since we last saw you. Your Dad was saying the same last night."

I stared in confusion. Was she right? Had I lost weight? I felt so much healthier now, but I hadn't gone on a diet. My clothes did feel a lot looser.

Oh what was I even worried for? I was still the big girl who got bullied her whole life till just over a year ago. I didn't feel like that same girl now, so maybe I had changed.

I waffed down more food before making that all important call. I ran back upstairs and went to my coat pocket where I kept the pieces of paper Drako had given me. There it was, the doctors number.

The name on the piece of paper was Dr Finnigan. I was holding all my hopes with this doctor, but how did they know I was gonna need it? Did they have a feeling too.

I took out my phone and dialed the number. It only rang once and someone picked it up. Great it was a woman. Thank god.

"Hello! Dr Finnigan speaking, can I help you?"

I cleared my throat, "Hello. I need a house call. Drako Frost gave me your number. Sorry if it's an inconvenience."

She went quiet, like cogs were turning over in her head, "Ahhhh. No, not at all. What seems to be the problem?" Phew! I really thought she was gonna tell me where to go.

"Well a few months ago my Mum and Dad moved here on business. My Mum got sick pretty much straight away. She has seen doctors, and they said she's ok, but I don't think she is. Can I ask you a personal question?"

She laughed. "Of course you can, but I already know what you're going to ask. Am I a vampire? The answer is yes, I am. I know you are too."

I relaxed instantly "Ok well, there's a really odd smell like rotting meat coming from my Mum. I smelled it the second I got to the house."

She was silent for quite sometime. "Hello are you still there?"

She coughed, "Give me the address hon. I have to see her straight away." After telling her the address she hung up. I walked back downstairs. Mum looked at me.

"I think I'm a lost cause sweetheart." I hugged her tight. Now I didn't care if she stunk. I hugged her so close, swallowing back the bile that rose in my mouth.

"No, Mum! Please don't say that. We'll get you better. I promise. we need you, please don't give up."

She smiled. "I'll try my best Gracie." And she held onto me for dear life.
