Chapter 16

Lauren's POV

I woke up to someone banging on the door and yelling. I slowly opened my eyes and felt a weight on top of me and I saw Camila there then I remembered where I was. My heart dropped and I suddenly became more awake when I heard someone knock on her door. I tried to get out of Camila's hold but she tightened her arms.

"Camz! Camila!"I whispered yelled at her and she hummed

"Wha?"She mumbled.

"Get off of me! Someone's knocking on your door!"I whispered frantically and she flew up and accidentally hit my jaw with her head.

"Shit I'm so sorry. But you need to hide!"She whispered and I heard another bang and a voice.

"Camila abrir la puerta!!"I heard her mom call out and I hurriedly picked up my bag and shoes from the floor and tossed it out the window then I climbed out after. Once I was completely out of the window Camila closed it and I heard her door open and I grabbed my stuff and scooted up the outside wall. I sat down on the roof and I tried to eavesdrop on their conversation.

"Karla when did you get home?!?!"I heard her mom say.

"I uh l-last night."Camila stuttered.

"And why didn't you come back home earlier?!?! You know how worried your father and I were?!?!"Sinuhe raised her voice and I rolled my eyes.

"I'm sorry mami I was s-scared."Camila stammered and I just wanted to hop back in and hold her.

"Where did you go?!?!"I heard Sinuhe say angrily.

".......D-Dinah's."Camila answered and I heard her mom growl.

"Don't you dare lie to me! I know when your lying."Sinuhe spat and I didn't hear Camila say anything.

"Were you at your pathetic excuse of a so called 'girlfriends' house?"Sinuhe spat and I scoffed.

"I'm amazing."I silently mumbled and I stood up as I tried to get dressed.

"No! You got it wrong! Your a pathetic excuse of a mother! You don't care about me or my happiness! All you care about is yourself and what you think is best for Jesus! Fuck you!"Camila yelled and I heard a smack and I quickly looked in the window and saw Camila on the ground holding her cheek.

"What The Fuck!!"I said loudly and I immediately slapped my hand over my mouth.

Her mom looked up and I ducked down and the only option I had was to get off this roof so without thinking I jumped off the roof with my bags and landed on the grass in her backyard. I tried to get up as fast as I could but my feet and ankles were stinging so I started to crawl away. Once the stinging lessened I got up and limped to the fence and jumped over it then limped to my car that was behind another house. When I got inside my car the first thing I did was text Camila.

To:Camzi ♥: Hey are you okay?

From:Camzi ♥: Yeah I'm fine where are you? My mom went downstairs to find the person who was in my window so you better pick me up now lol.
