The guild hadn't seen this much activity since before Tenrou Island vanished. The normal job requests were overflowing from the board and that wasn't counting the special requests that Master and Mirajane were managing from the bar.

"Let her eat in peace, child."

Carla stood on the table between Wendy and Amber, paws on her hips. The little Dragon Slayer was nearly bouncing up and down in her seat with excitement. She scratched her check nervously, "Sorry, I just can't help it."

"Don't be too hard on her, Carla." Kia stepped up behind Wendy, hands on her hips. "It's been a long time since Wendy was able to learn magic from or with someone else." She gave the young girl a warm smile, "Even I'm a little excited for her."

Wendy couldn't contain her smile as she looked up at the Phoenix Slayer. A comfortable warmth spread in her chest, a feeling that she tended to get when around the pink-haired female. Being around Kia always gave the Sky Dragon Slayer an unexplainable sense of comfort, it was almost like her presence and scent meant something to Wendy that she couldn't quite put her finger on.

"Thanks, Kia!"

The pinkette gave Wendy's shoulder a light squeeze, "I think you're thanking the wrong person." Kia turned for the door, giving a wave, "I can't wait to see what you two have done when I get back."

"Are you sure you'll be alright on your own?" Amber asked.

Her friend didn't even turn around, just shook her head as she reached the exit, "I'll be fine."

Amber, Wendy, and Carla all watched until the guild hall doors were completely closed behind the Phoenix Slayer.

"Where's Kia going?"

The three looked up to see Lucy walking over to join them with Levy and Lisanna in tow.

"Is she going on a mission without you two?" Lisanna asked as she sat down, "I don't think I've ever seen you three apart since you formed a team."

The Blood mage sighed, "She's just got something she has to take care of. She'll be back by tomorrow morning."

"Speaking of two," Lucy scanned over the faces that were sitting around the guild, "Where's Verani?"

"She had a special request job with Laxus. They left this morning to take care of it, while the Thunder Legion filled one they had." Amber took a sip of her tea as she pushed her plate far enough to get herself some elbow room.

Levy gave the older girl a smile, "Decide to take a break from all the work for a change?"

"Not entirely," the dark-haired girl smiled, looking toward Wendy, "Someone wanted a training partner."

All of the Sky Dragon Slayer's excitement was back in an instant, "Amber and I are going to see if we can learn anything from each other since our magics have a few similar properties!"

"Calm down, child," Carla sighed, "You're going to fall off your chair at this rate."

"That's great, Wendy!" Lucy smiled widely, bringing her hands together in joy.

"Yeah," Levy nodded, "Amber is great. She'd probably be S-class if she hadn't missed the trail the last couple of times."

A faint blush crossed her cheeks, "You don't know that."

"You never know." The cheery tone of Mirajane said as she stepped up to their table. "You and Verani would have definitely been competitors."

Amber's nerves started dancing faster, "That still doesn't mean either one of us would have made the cut."
