It was late in the night.

There was a faint sound of the rustling leaves and humming of the crickets outside.

When the clock stroke at twelve o'clock in the midnight, the long lashes of the sleeping duchess slightly trembled.

After a few minutes past midnight, Atallie, who has been unconscious for an entire day, finally opened her dreamy amber eyes which were still hazy from the long sleeping.

One look and one could tell that Atallie's still sickly pallor was concerning. However, with her usual indifference and her amber eyes which has now regained their usual sharpness and coldness, the duchess seemed to be not like someone who has just woke up from being unconscious.

Strings of thoughts came rushing the moment she regained her clarity. And after a few minutes of managing her thoughts, in the end, she couldn't help but to roll her eyes helplessly about her situation.

There's a first for everything.

Duchess Atallie could only mutter these words in her head as she propped herself up from the bed.

When her eyes saw the familiar but unfamiliar room, Atallie knew that she must had been already transferred to the newly renovated room.

Even under the dim light, when she saw a fraction of the newly renovated room which was exuding with immaculate grandeur, Atallie sighed in satisfaction in her heart as she thought.

Now, this is what I call a room.

Unlike the princess room before which was filled with everything pink and rubbish!

Thinking about the appearance of the room before, Atallie pursed her lips in annoyance. But because it somehow spoiled her mood, she tossed it right away out her mind, but she didn't forget to remind herself how she should take action about that offense.

But for now, she must at least freshen up in the bathroom before informing Leonor or any of her personal maidservants that she already came about. With this, Atallie suddenly thought why there was actually no one inside her room to at least wait on her or attend to her once she regained her consciousness.

But alas, Atallie believed that her health and life must not be important in this estate, considering that the duke must have also been already informed of her plight. Worse, the duke must have personally instructed that no one was to wait on her.

Thinking up to this point, a frown made its way to Atallie's beautiful but indifferent face as she scolded the duke in her heart.

What a bastard!

However, the moment that Atallie moved away from her bed, an unbelievable scenario unfolded in front of her eyes.

Duke Calex was slightly leaning on the long couch across the bed. The room was dimly lit and only a few magical sticks were lighting up the room. But it was clear as a day that the duke seemed to be fast asleep.

However, looking at the quietly sleeping duke, Atallie narrowed her amber eyes which were filled with suspicion and more.

The duke, even when asleep, was able to hide his own breath and aura that even she wasn't able to notice right away.

Is it because I just woke up from a coma?

Atallie has her doubts. But she also knew too well that the duke was not an ordinary person and was actually one of the most powerful in the kingdom.

Yet, at this moment, Atallie chose to tossed all those thoughts on the back of her mind. And what she did after was something she wouldn't even able to expect from herself.
