Chapter 5 - An Official Slayer

Arifu POV

After I killed the last group of demons, I made my way to the place where the children were at before.

But I was surprised when I didn't see anyone except the two children from earlier.

Me: "Am I the only one left?"

WHC: "It seems that is the case."

Me: "Okay, so what do I do now?"

BHC: "First, we would need to engrave your rank."

WHC: "There are 10 ranks in total-"

Me: "Don't worry, I know the ranks already."

BHC: "Alright, then."

WHC: "How many demons have you killed?"

Me: "Wait, let me see..." I say as I recall all of the demons I've killed up until now.

Me: "I have killed 61 normal demons and a Former Lower Moon 1."

The two children widened their eyes in shock.

BHC: "Then we will give you the Tsuchinoe rank."

Me: 'Damn...' I thought. "Thank you."

WHC: "We will now assign you a Kasugai Crow."

BHC: "They are mainly used for communication."

The White-Haired Child then clapped her hands as a black eagle came flying from the sky.

I straightened my right arm for the eagle to land on as it did.

Me: 'Wow...' I thought.

Me: "Are you a male or female?"

Eagle: "I am a male, Arifu-sama."

Me: "Do you have name?"

Eagle: "I'm afraid that I dont, would you like to name me?"

Me: "How about Tori?"

Tori: "Thank you, that is a nice name, Arifu-sama."

WHC: "Now, you may choose an ore for your Nichirin Blade." she said as she pulls the cloth that is covering a table in front of her.

Me: 'They all looked the same... I'll pick the one which has the strongest aura then.' I thought.

I picked the one that I sensed with the strongest aura and give it to her.

BHC: "We will now take your measurements for your uniforms..."

Timeskip

I am now almost back in front of Gojo-sensei's house on top of Mount Tsurugi as I can see the door opens and my one and only sensei comes out.

Gojo: "Yo, Arifu."

Me: "Hey, sensei!"

Gojo: "How many demons did you kill?"

Me: "62 including a former Lower Moon 1."

Gojo: "Wow, was it hard?"

Me: "Well, I only used Water Breathing for every demon except the Lower Moon."

As I was explaining, Tori came down flying and landed on my shoulder.

Gojo: "Holy shit, is that your Kasugai crow?!"

Me: "Yep, it's an eagle though. His name is Tori."

Tori: "Arifu-sama, Oyakata-sama wishes to speak with you at his estate."

Me: "Why would he want to speak with me?"

Tori: "I do not know. All I know is that I was ordered to lead you to his estate."

Me: "Well, this is goodbye..."

Gojo: "Don't worry, Arifu. We'll see each other sometime, right?"

Me: "Yeah... Alrighty, then. Tori, lead the way!"

Tori: "Hai', Arifu-sama."

...

I am now walking towards a big mansion surrounded by Wisteria trees. I could also see a man in his twenties sitting on a veranda who I assume is Oyakata-sama.

I walked towards him and kneeled.

Me: "Greetings, Oyakata-sama. You wished to speak to me?"

Oyakata-sama: "Hello, Arifu. Yes, I did wish to speak to you."

Me: "What would this be about?"

Oyakata-sama: "I heard that you killed 62 demons including a former Lower Moon 1 during Final Selection?"

Me: "Yes, Oyakata-sama. That is true."

Oyakata-sama: "That is truly remarkable."

Me: "Thank you, Oyakata-sama."

Oyakata-sama: "I have an offer for you, Arifu. There is this mission I want you to go on and there is likely to be a Lower Moon there. If you can complete this mission, I will directly promote you straight to Kinoe."

Me: "I will gladly accept this mission, Oyakata-sama. Thank you."

Oyakata-sama: "Good luck."

Me: "I'll take my leave, then." I got up and bowed.

3rd POV

Kagaya: "Arifu, you are such an amazing boy... You might be the fastest slayer to become a Hashira after joining the corps."

Kagaya: "Kibutsuji Muzan, we will definitely defeat you in this generation..."

"I'm sure of it."
