"Sometimes when you're in so deep, it feels easier to just swim down."
- Renee Elise Goldsberry, Angelica Schuyler; OBC.

Memories hurt more than actions. Words cut deeper than knives, and in the end, our friends' silence hurt more than the words of our enemies.

They're disgusted by me.
Her parents hate me.
My own parents wish I was never born.
I'm a disgrace to my family.

Ahsoka was crumbling. She was falling. At school, in front of others, and with her friends, she always seemed happy and free.

Freedom.

Something that lay just beyond her reach.

She hadn't felt free in years.

She was like that pair of drama masks, sorrow veiled behind happiness.

Every satirical comment that had ever been thrown at her remained firmly imprinted in her memory. They lingered, dismantling the minute foundation of what little confidence Ahsoka had left.

Her friends thought they knew her. They didn't. They knew her mask of optimism. In truth, they knew nothing about her at all.

Memories are supposed to be happy, she wrote in her journal. Why is it that mine are never so? Why me? Do I not deserve what others do?
