10. Commencement

Monami and Sid stood ashamed in Colonel Vikram Batra's cabin. There truth somehow went out and to say that Colonel Batra was angry at them would be an understatement as what he felt was sheer anger at the duo and their childish stunt.

"Tum dono ko kya lagta hai? Yaha koi mazaak chal raha hai? Ya yeh koi Adventure sports ka spot hai jaha tum dono masti mazaak karoge! Tum dono ko idea bhi nahi hai ki is training ka motive kitna serious aur important hai. " He yelled making Monami shed a few tears.

"We are really sorry sir... Yeh sab..." Sid tried to do the damage control but the things weren't that simple at the moment.

"Shut up! Yaha excuses ki koi jagah nahi hai." Colonel lashed back.

"Sir, may I come in? " Karan asked in a strict professional tone.

Colonel looked at Karan before nodding in positive. Karan entered and stood a step ahead of Sid and Monami like a shield.

"Sir agar yaha kisi ko saza milni chahiye toh woh mai hu because mujhe in dono ke jhooth ke baare mei pehle se pata tha! " Karan said making the three pair of eyes look at him in horror. His words truly made him their shield.

"What? Pehle kyu nahi bataya tumne,  Shergill?" Colonel asked.

"I am sorry Sir! Mujhe pehle hi bata dena chahiye tha aapko but aap meri baat pe yakeen nahi karte! Isiliye nahi bataya but isse meri galti kam nahi hoti! Aapko jo bhi saza deni hai mujhe dejiye inhe nahi! " Karan said making Monami look at him all shocked. He chose to ignore her stare while looking at Colonel.

"Fine! You will be in solitary confinement for the next 72 hours and in your absence Sanjana will train the recruits. Am I clear? " Colonel ordered in a strict tone making Monami and Sid gasp while Karan stood unfazed.

"Yes Sir! " Karan said firmly.

"And you both , what do you want? Training karni hai ya aur mazaak? " Colonel asked Monami and Sid.

"Training Sir! Of course Training! " Sid answered for both on his and Monami's behalf as she stood numb watching Karan take the blame for them.

"Fine back to your dorms! And Karan ask Faizi to lead you to Solitary confinement! " Colonel dismissed them off.

"Yes Sir! " The three of them got out and before she could talk with Karan, he quickly walked away to search Faizi.

After a few hours Karan was just sitting inside the solitary confinement's cold floor, thinking of something when he heard the commotion from outside but before he could comprehend the situation, Monami was pushed inside the solitary confinement making him extremely confused but what confused him more was the smile on her face.

"Rani Saaheba aap yaha kya kar rahi hai?" Karan asked.

"Solitary confinement mei koi kya karta hai? " She asked back while he rolled his eyes at her audacity.

"Seedha jawaab dedogi toh aasmaan nahi gir jaayega! " He whisper yelled.

"Sanju se ladayi hogayi thi toh Colonel Batra ne yaha bhej diya! " She told him while walking towards him and sitting near him.

"Lekin tum toh khush lag rahi ho jaise yaha aana koi achievement ki baat ho! " He said pointing to her happy face.

"Achievement hi toh hai! Jab tum meri aur Sid ki galti ki saza apne sar le sakte ho toh mai tumhe yaha accompany toh kar hi sakti hu! " She told him making him look at her surprised.
