ONE DAY LATER

KIRA POV

The alarm rang and I woke up, rolled out of bed slowly and went into Fens room, "hey bubs." I kissed his cheek and he started to stretch and took a deep breath in, "good morning sweet boy. It's Friday, one more day and then the weekend." I rubbed his back for a few seconds before leaving and going to Lilly's room, kissed her as well, "good morning baby girl, it's time to wake up. It's Friday honey, one more day and then it's the weekend." I scratched her back for a few seconds and rubbed her head. She slowly rolled over and when her little eyes opened I couldn't help but smile.

"Good morning momma," she yawned.

"Good morning sunshine," I leaned forward and kissed her head, "want some eggs and bacon?" She nodded her head as she rubbed her eyes and yawned again. I stood and headed downstairs, grabbing out the eggs and bacon. There was a knock at the door and Esme walked in.

"Good morning," she smiled, "how is everyone?"

"Tired," I chuckled, "we are dragging today. I'm about done with breakfast though and they should be down soon." I tossed everything on their plates and set them at the table. "Hey loves," I said loudly, "breakfast!"

"Hey do you think it's okay if Cyprus hangs out with Anna?" she asked, "I don't know... I just feel like it's, I don't know." I couldn't help but laugh.

"Yes I think it's okay," I nodded, "guys come on! He met Anna when you signed him up for Bedburg High. This was your doing. They're friends."

"More than that," she scoffed.

"So what?" I chuckled, "let them have their fun. Just encourage safety, protection. Don't tell them not to, they'll do it to rebel." She sighed and then nodded her head.

"Okay, I guess you're right," she nodded, "she's coming over tonight for dinner. Supposedly the two of them both have work that they are just going to work on together I guess. I don't buy it."

"Well it's a good thing you have tribred hearing," I looked at her, "and speed. It'll be okay." The two of them came downstairs and they started to eat. I made Cade a plate so he could eat as well. Afterwards Esme took them to school and it wasn't long before Jace came downstairs.

"Goodmorning baby," he walked over and kissed my cheek, "how are you?"

"I'm good," she nodded, "I'm going out today to check out the cemetery a bit more. I was thinking about asking Justin to come out. Have you talked to him at all by the way?"

"I haven't," he shook his head, "I haven't seen him either. He's been holed up now for months."

"Okay well today that ends," I nodded, "come on." I grabbed his hand and pulled him outside and over to Esme's house. I knocked on the front door before walking in. The house was quiet, you could hear a pin drop.

"What are we doing?" Jace asked, "why are we here?"

"Because it's time he gets out of his head," I looked around and heard a sigh from upstairs. I started that way, walking up to a door. I could smell him. I knocked and opened it immediately, his eyes already locked on mine.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"This is an intervention," Jace sighed.

"An intervention my ass," he chuckled, "really?"

"Really," I walked over to him, "I'm sorry that I hurt you. I tried to fight it, I did but I couldn't. I don't know how you do, I've never been able to understand. But I am sorry for that day, I am. I wish it would have turned out different, I really do. I-"
