"And remember-" Athena started, but she was cut off by her wife.

"Babe come on! We gotta go! I'm a charioteer, I can't show up late!" Nike called out.

The wisdom goddess eyed Kratos with Alexia on his hip and Zelos with Daemon on his shoulders.

"Go, we'll be fine." Kratos urged, pushing his sister-in-law out the door with his free hand.

"You have nothing to worry about. We'll take care of them." Zelos added.

Athena shook her head as she walked up to her wife. The two of them, plus her kids who seemed to love chaos... This was asking for trouble.

Zelos, Kratos, Alexia and Daemon watched as the pair rode off in Nike's golden chariot. Off for fates know what reason.

"So, what are we doing today?" Zelos asked, looking up towards Daemon.

"Can we go to the mortal world?" The 4 year old suggested.

"No Daemon, mom said 'No mortal world'." Alexia replied.

"Well mom's not here. We are. And what mom doesn't know can't hurt her right?" Kratos grinned.

"She better not know, I'd prefer to live for another couple of centuries thanks." Zelos chuckled.

"We'll be fine. What do you say Alexia? A tour of the world below?" Kratos smirked.

"You're really sure mom won't find out?" The girl asked, knowing her mother's wrath all too well.

"I swear on my mother's river." Her uncle replied with a broad smile.

"In that case, yes please." The 8-year-old nodded.

In no time the two kids found themselves soaring through the sky in the arms of their uncles.

First high, through fluffy clouds. Then low between buildings and skyscrapers.

The laughter of the kids was all Zelos and Kratos needed to know that the risk they were taking was totally worth it.

After a while they stopped on the rooftop of a skyscraper. The angels sat on the edge of the roof, their feet dangling of the edge with the kids in their lap.

In front of them the sun was slowly sinking behind the city skyline. Kratos smirked to himself.

"If I get killed tomorrow by my crazy sister-in-law and my even crazier sister this will have been totally worth it." He said.

"I agree. This is a good way to go. I'm satisfied." Zelos grinned.

"Is flying always this cool?" Daemon asked, looking up towards his uncle Zelos.

"Oh yeah, it's the best there is." He replied.

"Do you think I can have wings?" Alexia questioned.

"Ooh, ooh, me too!" Daemon exclaimed.

"Probably, although you'll have to ask your moms for those." Kratos shrugged.

They sat on the edge of the roof for a little longer, chatting, laughing, until the sun had completely disappeared and made room for the moon.

"I think we should be heading back now. It's gonna be bedtime for you kids soon." Zelos said.

"Bedtime? But we're with you. You said bedtimes don't count." Alexia protested.

"We know we did. But that was before we broke the 'don't-take-the-kids-to-the-mortal-world' rule. " Kratos winked.

"You lied to us." Daemon muttered.

"Look, if you don't go to bed on time, you'll never be ready for the awesomeness of the next day." Zelos jumped in.

"You think tomorrow is going to be awesome?" The little guy asked.

"I'm sure of it!" His uncle grinned.

For a moment silence fell. Zelos and Kratos shared a look. They gave a slight nod. The angelic brothers wrapped their arms and wings around the kids. With a last glance at the other, they let themselves fall forward without warning.

Terrified screams erupted from the children's throats. They were falling head first into the city below. They may be small, but they were smart enough to know that concrete sidewalks and asphalt streets didn't exactly make for a comfortable landing.

Lights of buildings flashed past their eyes as their uncles dragged them into the free fall. At the very last moment Zelos and Kratos opened their wings and soared right above the car roofs at an incredible speed.

The adrenaline pumped through the veins of both the kids and their uncles.

"Good thing we're not telling mom." Alexia muttered as she looked at the city getting smaller and smaller beneath her, while on their way back home.

It's a short one. I know, I'm sorry. It's been a messy couple of weeks and I had trouble finding my flow. It's been busy, it's been hard, it's been... Life... But I'm okay. None the less I hope you still like this short one. I think it's wholesome, although not entirely written to it's full potential. Have a nice day kiddos and happy reading!
