I felt someone picking me up. I slowly opened my eyes.

Who ...

My eyes slowly focused on Achlys. I gasped seeing her covered in blood. She continued walking.

"Are you hurt?" She asked me in a cold tone.

"What ... Happened ...?" I asked.

She ignored me and related the question.

"Are you hurt?"

"No... I ... I don't think so."

"I'll check when we're home."

She opened the door And put me down on our bed. I looked at her in shock.

Why is she covered in blood...

She slowly and gently started examining my body.

"Okay. Clear."

"How about you go take a shower Achlys..." Said Viktor.

She looked at him emotionlessly.

"Sure." She answered entering the bathroom.

"What the hell...?" I asked looking at Viktor.

He shushed me.

"Whisper. I'll explain but u need to be quiet."

I nodded.

"Achlys found her brother dead... He was killed as a warning."

"Who would do that?!" I asked.

"I don't know, that's what I'm trying to find out."

"What about the earthquake...?"

"... I shouldn't be telling you this... But fuck it. We've been pouring a bit of her blood through the whole water system for years. Hence why there are no sicknesses here and that people die of old age but this also means that the whole city is relied to her. Emotions like anger can make the water boil and cause such earthquakes..."

I looked at him surprised.

"So ... She's been healing people this whole time but anonymously...?"

"Yeah. That's why I said it was fucked up cause it's very tiring for her."

The door unlocked and Viktor ran out of the apartment.

"Where's Viktor?" She asked.

"Uh i ... Don't know... Listen Achlys I'm -"

She suddenly hugged me. My eyes widened in surprise at the sudden affection.

"Don't apologize." She whispered before letting go of me.

"No, i need to apologize ... I never should've judged you without the context. I'm sorry..."

She looked over her shoulder. Her usual softness was gone... She had every right of being mad and yet even though her stare was pretty neutral... It still felt gentle.

"Jinx... Something bad is about to happen to me. I don't know what it is but i feel it coming..."

She suddenly pushed me against wall, completely blocking me with her body. I gasped out of surprise.

"Don't leave me." She whispered to me in a desperate tone.

I observed her frustrated body language and desperate tone of voice.

"I won't ..."

She suddenly punched the wall next to my face.

"Don't lie to me." She said in a strict tone.

"I'm not lying..." I said making eye contact wit her.

"Prove it..." She whispered looking at my lips.

I leaned forward and kissed her.
