June 30 10:00

The months before summer had been full of pranks, jokes and kissing. Oh, and birthdays of course! Lily and Severus in January; James, Remus and Alice in March; Regulus in June. The others had birthdays before Christmas; Frank and Peter in September and Sirius in November, or haven't had them yet; Marlene in August and Hailey, Heather, Harry and Neville in July.

While everyone was packing ready to leave straight after breakfast tomorrow morning, Remus gently pulled Hailey away from the rest of the group and to the Room of Requirement.

"Are you ok, Remi?" She asked, and with good reason, he was almost sickly pale with bags under his eyes; The full moon was tomorrow.

"Yeah, just, sick of you not knowing." He replied, his voice tired.

"Not knowing what?"

"Hailey, werewolves have life mates. We get the ability to find out on our twelfth birthday. We know by smell and then by touch." He said "You, Hailey Eliza Rider, Hailey Lily Potter, whichever you prefer. Are my life mate." He ducked his head. Hailey smiled, brought his chin up and kissed him soundly.

"Well, that is a very good thing as no chick is getting you without killing me first." She whispered against his lips before kissing him when he started growling, his eyes a bright amber.

"Moony doesn't like that. You talking about someone killing you." Remus whispered when his eyes had faded back to their usual brown.

"Well we will just have to make sure it never happens won't we." Hailey giggled when he just nodded dumbly. "Come on!" She jumped off his lap "Let's read in the common room or something."

When they got there, Remus sat on one of the sofas by the fire while Hailey grabbed a few books before collapsing next to him, her head coming to rest on his lap. His hand immediately imbedded itself in her auburn locks.

July 1 7:30

It was the final breakfast of the school year and the Riders stood from their places next to their boyfriends and walked to the front of the hall - Dumbledore moved the lectern as they walked and summoned four microphones.

"Hello everyone! Now we know you are exited for summer but we wanted to sing one last song for all of you. This is simply called Home." Hailey said into her mic.

Home
A place where I can go
To take this off my shoulders
Someone take me home
Home
A place where I can go
To take this off my shoulders
Someone take me home
Someone take me

Look, I didn't power through the struggle
Just to let a little trouble, knock me out of my position
And interrupt the vision
After everything I witnessed, after all of these decisions
All these miles, feet, inches
They can't add up to the distance
That I have been through, just to get to
A place where even if there's no closure, I'm still safe
I still ache from trying to keep pace
Somebody give me a sign, I'm starting to lose faith

Now tell me: how did all my dreams turn to nightmares?
How did I lose it when I was right there?
Now I'm so far that it feels like it's all gone to pieces
Tell me why the world never fights fair
I'm trying to find

Home
A place where I can go
To take this off my shoulders
Someone take me home
Home
A place where I can go
To take this off my shoulders
Someone take me home
(It's been a long time coming)
Someone take me
Home, ho-o-o-o-me
Home, home
Someone take me
Home, ho-o-o-o-me
Home, home

Look, I been through so much pain
And it's hard to maintain, any smile on my face
'Cause there's madness on my brain
So I gotta make it back, but my home ain't on the map
Gotta follow what I'm feeling to discover where it's at
I need the (memory)
In case this fate is forever, just to be sure these last days are better
And if I have any (enemies)
To give me the strength to look the devil in the face and make it home safe

Now tell me: how did all my dreams turn to nightmares?
How did I lose it when I was right there?
Now I'm so far that it feels like it's all gone to pieces
Tell me why the world never fights fair
I'm trying to find

Home
A place where I can go
To take this off my shoulders
Someone take me home
Someone take me

I found no cure for the loneliness
I found no cure for the sickness
Nothing here feels like home
Crowded streets, but I'm all alone
I found no cure for the loneliness
I found no cure for the sickness
Nothing here feels like home
Crowded streets, but I'm all alone

(Someone take me)
Home, ho-o-o-o-me
Take me home
Home, home, take me home
Someone take me
Home, ho-o-o-o-me
Someone, someone
Nothing here feels like home
Home, home
(Someone take me)

Only the new marauders knew what the song was really saying....
