I awake alone, slightly dazed as sleep is still fading from me.

"Killian?" I call out, hoping he'd step into my sight. But instead Maggie enters the room with a gold tray in her hands.

She smiles, "Killian stepped away my dear. He asked that I stay with you until he arrives." She sets the tray down on the bed, "I made tea, and muffins. The one on the left is chocolate chip, the other apple crumble. Killians favorite."

"Thank you, Maggie." I say before taking the apple muffin. Tasting it, I can see why Killian favored them. "It's delicious, is this your recipe?"

"I'll be honest, I got it from a cookbook, but because I add a little more butter and cinnamon, I say it's my own recipe." Maggie chuckles at what she said.
I couldn't help but chuckle too at the thought of what she said. It wasn't even all that funny, yet, I couldn't help but laugh alongside her.

I offer her the other muffin, which she happily accepted. She almost seemed shocked by my offer. I assume Lucifer isn't one to offer generosity let alone food.

"What is Killian doing?" I ask after minutes of talking to Maggie about Killian and the castle grounds that she's been caring for, for roughly nine hundred years.

"He asked me not to say." She stops, but quickly adds on as she sees the dismay on my face, "but it's nothing bad or dangerous. He's just out getting a few things at the shops."

"Oh, okay." Smiling, I sigh out, "I think I'm going to shower, is it okay if we continue this conversation later? I know Jasmine will need help getting ready for the ball tonight and I plan on helping her, but if I see you at the ball we can finish talking then?" I suggest in a questioning tone.

"Oh no dear, I'm not allowed to attend the ball. I'be been put on kitchen duty. But no need to fuss, I'll be wearing my best apron." She smiles, patting my shoulder. "But eventually, I would like to talk to you. About her." She adds, in which I immediately knew he was talking about Killians first mate.

"Wait. Please." I plea. "I'll wait to get cleaned up. What is it you want to tell me about her?"

Maggie takes a deep breath before looking around the room, "if Lucifer finds out I spoke to you about this, he will have my head." She whispers.

"I won't tell a soul."

"It's not you I'm worried about. The walls talk you know..." Maggie murmurs. "But all you need to know is that she's been planting those images in your head. She was a very powerful creature, like yourself. She was a hound with the blood of a witch running through her veins. So even in death, she can send images if she's given the power. I think... I think she's warning you about Lucifer. I know what he did to her and to their baby... I think he plans to do the same to y-"

"Ah, Maggie. Here you are."

Lucifer steps into my room, practically breaking the heavy wooden door off its hinges as it's been flown open, smacking the stone walls of the castle due to his forceful push. "Whatever are you discussing with the girl?"
