Tucked behind the curtain of the setting sun, an obscure funeral was being held as hues of pinks and oranges shrouded Mt. Hulao. A melancholy atmosphere hung around the people who stood at the peak of this mountain, though most of their silence hid a seething anger and sadness that was begging to be unraveled.

A smooth half oval stone rose from the ground with polished Noctilucous jade embedded into the upper portion of the stone. Etched into the stone with an elegant font read a name, followed by their titles and a small sentence that did little to describe the vast amounts of accomplishments this person had made in their lifetime. It helped that the location of this grave was in a rather sacred place historically speaking, the residence of the Adeptus Mountain shaper being a burial site not something a normal person could rest at.

A funeral was held hours prior for one of the two remaining Yaksha, meaning that there was only one left before the group would officially become an item of history.

The guest list for the funeral wasn't even a full page long, though that was understandable as only a select number of people even knew of the deceased person's significance. Half had already returned after sharing their sorrows, though some still remained despite the formalities of unveiling the grave being over long ago.

Standing tall and stiff with her wings pressed at her sides, the feathers intricate patterns of blue, white, and a speck of gold, the Adeptus Cloud Retainer stared apathetic towards her companion as she let the grave be attended to in peace.

She spoke without even opening her beak, though to a regular person a bird speaking the same way a human does was already strange enough.

"Did the remaining Yaksha ever arrive?" She questioned as she stared at her stag companion, whose aura distilled much more sadness than her own.

As this conversation on the side was going on, one of the Wangsheng funeral parlor workers crouched in front of the grave to place the parting gifts neatly. The man was considerably tall, even as he crouched down anyone was able to tell this, and his lean build hid the grave from the others sight. He wore the standard uniform that was provided when working for the Funeral parlor and his long tied up hair rested over his shoulder to settle upon the front of his uniform, the dark brown hue fading into an orange that rivaled the sunset. His golden irises narrowed as he scanned the words on the tombstone, his eyebrows scrunching downwards in what looked to be an irked expression as he processed them. It truly did little to express how much they've impacted this region as a whole.

His gloved hand that held onto the stem of the Qingxin flower was not a gentle grip in the slightest, and when his thumb applied a little too much pressure, he felt the weight of the flower wilt over as the once firm stalk now looked similar to a greenstick fracture. The tall funeral parlor worker silently listened to the conversation going on behind him while setting aside the broken flower and nimbly picking up a fresh one, this time with much more delicacy as he placed it properly with care to honor the dead.

Zhongli, who was only hired to lead the funeral, had a much stronger connection to the deceased and to everyone who attended the funeral than anyone would have realized. He had drastically changed appearance wise and had no domineering authority that made them instinctively know who he was anymore, so it was no doubt that they didn't recognize him, though he found it was better this way.

"No. He's... not handling this well at all." The stag, Moon carver, replied to Cloud Retainer's earlier question on whether or not Xiao had the chance to show up.

Sigh

Moon Carver dipped his head downwards, his large antlers making his company keep their distance so as to not get hit by them. His worry was clearly shown with the action, as he wasn't one to hide his emotions among his fellow Adepti.
