I woke up this morning happy for once. I talked to Ariel yesterday finally and things seem to be okay.
Today is our first date and I want to make it perfect. But I don't know how so I'm going to her cousin for help.
"Hey Hercules do you have a minute?" I ask.
"Yeah what's up?" He said
"So today I'm taking Ariel on a date and I don't even know where to start."
"Okay well she loves picnics and going to the beach. So do something simple like that. Bring a radio or speaker with you because she loves listening to the waves and listening to music too. Just let her know you are there. She will probably open up to you to start whatever this is with no secrets. That's how she is. I will warn you she's had a rough past so listen to her and comfort her okay? You will be fine. Do you need help with picnic food?" He asks.
"No my best friend Emily is actually going to help. I kinda screwed up there and got mad one day and phased in front of her and now she knows the legends are true but has promised to not say anything about it."
"Hey that's okay. Just talk it over with the elders. It'll be fine. Anyways she loves raspberries and strawberries. They are her absolute favorite fruit. Stay away from oranges, she is highly allergic." He says getting ready to leave.
I texted Emily to see if she'd help me out and she of course said yes. So now I'm getting ready for this date and I'm a nervous wreck. I've already fucked this up enough I can't afford to ruin it even more.
I spent the day thinking about Ariel. What was she doing? Were her scars still hurting? Did she sleep okay? Did she miss me? I ended up torturing myself that I went to see Emily at her place to help me for tonight. When I got there she looked at me and knew I was nervous.
"I can feel your tension from here Sam. You need to relax." Emily tells me.
"I'm trying em. But I already messed this up so many times. You don't understand." I say.
"Sam listen. Just be yourself. She already knows you turn into a large dog so you don't have to be nervous about her finding out or even telling her. The hardest part is already done! Now is the fun part where you get to know each other and build a relationship together. I promise it will be okay." She says.
I ended up helping Emily make the food for the basket because I couldn't just sit around. Around 5 o'clock I text Ariel to let her know I'm headed over and will be there soon to pick her up. I changed real quick into some dark blue jeans and a white v neck. I grab the food and headed out the door to my truck. As I pulled up to her house I see her talking with Hercules and she looked gorgeous. She was wearing a light blue dress that fit her waist perfectly and flowed mid way down her thighs.
I jumped out of the truck and walked around over to her. When I got to her, I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her into a hug and kissed her cheek. "You ready to go?" I ask.
"Yeah I am." She smiles back at me. I walk her over to my truck and open the door for her. I help her in and make sure her dress won't get caught in the door. Once she's settled I make my way around and get in.
"So are you going to tell me where we are going?" She asks.
I smile and look at her. "We are having a picnic on the beach and watching the sunset." I see a smile stitch on her face as I tell her.
We get to the beach and I jump out of the truck and walk over to her side to open the door for her and help her out. I grabbed our stuff out of the back and grab my jacket in case she gets cold. We head down to the beach and we set up our little picnic area.
Once everything is together we sit down and start to talking. "So, how'd you end up here in La Push from Atlantis?" I ask her.
"Oh that's a long story." She says.
"I have all night." I tell her with a smile.
"My mother Amphitrite was Renee's sister. Renee is the woman who married Charlie Swan. Anyways, my mom and dad were soulmates even though he was a god and she was just a human. They had started see each other for a while and it made Renee jealous. I guess one day mom got in to a fight with her family and left and came here to the beach. Dad met her here that night and took her to Atlantis and made her a Demi-goddess to rule with him so they got married. They were married for I think three years and then got pregnant with me. Mom decided to visit Renee for a couple of days and while she was there Renee poisoned her drink. Since mom was only a Demi-goddess it still took effect. It sent mom into an early labor having me. I was so weak I wasn't suppose to make it as a child. Sadly shortly after I was born mom died. Dad already lost the love of his life and was about to lose me too. My aunts and uncles decided that dad shouldn't lose me so they made me a full goddess as a new born. Typically I wouldn't have gotten my title and full powers till 16 but since I was dying they did what they had to do to save me. Leaving me with the title Goddess of animals and nature, with water and fire powers, music abilities, incredible strength, summon lighting, hunting and protecting skills and love and beauty. Since I was so young with so many powers it's caused me to grow quicker than the average god or goddess. By the time I was 10 years old I actually looked and was matured like a 20 year old god or goddess and haven't aged since. That's been about 30 ish years I think I'm not exactly sure. I stopped counting after a while. Dad already agreed to help the pack years ago with killing vampires. With you all shifting into wolves you are technically counted under my reign. Billy wanted to meet me after he heard about what happened. So finally gaining enough courage dad brought me to meet him and Sarah. The girls were a few years old around that time as well. After that day I kept visiting. Soon billy asked if Hercules and I would protect the land because vampires still came on the land but it wasn't long enough to trigger a shifter. After a few years of being here I actually saw Renee at Billy's with Charlie was Bella was 2 or 3 maybe. She kept saying what I have should have been hers because Renee was the oldest but she wasn't the soulmate mom was. So I told Renee to watch herself and Bella because I was so mad I could've killed them both for what Renee did to my mom. I never got to meet her and I never got much of a childhood because I was always training powers since my body grew so fast. Renee left and took Bella with her shortly after that and then Sarah and billy got in that car accident. So Herc and I always helped billy around with the kids. I'm actually their goddess mother. Rachel is closest to me where Jacob and Rebecca are closer to billy. But that's how I ended up here. Because of my title billy thought it would be good to help you all out in case you got out of control and could help with a shifter temper." She finishes her story staring off into the ocean.
"Ariel, I will forever be sorry for what I did to you. I literally had no excuse. I was just a dick. I hope I haven't ruined my chances with you because I want to give this a try. To be together, to accept this bond." I tell her. She smiles at me and nods her head "yeah I'd like that too." We go on talking more about my side and how my dad was always an ass, my mother blamed everything my dad did on me. I told her about me phasing in front of my best friend because so got mad at myself for what I was doing to her.
I turned around and turned the speaker on playing some music. The sun was starting to set and a slow song comes on. I stand up and reach for her hand and I pull her up close to me. I hold her close swaying back and forth to You are the Reason. My fingers trace down her scars and I tear up knowing I did that to my imprint. "I'm so sorry Ariel." I say placing my head into her neck kiss the scars.
"It's okay, I've forgiven you." She says.
"Ariel tonight has been wonderful. Will you be my girl? My luna?"
