Over the next couple of days, things seem to be flowing pretty well. Or at least I thought so until 8am this morning when a loud howl was let off. Sam and I heard it. As we made our way downstairs, I saw that Rachel was up.
"Hey, can you watch Melody for a little bit. Sam and I are going and responding to that howl. Don't worry about waking the boys up. Give them the morning off." I tell her.
"Yeah of course. No problem at all." She says while feeding Mason.
Sam and I hurried and took off towards the howl. I just jumped on his back instead of getting Atlas out. When we reached our destination, we saw a very panicked wolf. As I jumped off of Sam's back the wolf started growling at me.
"Hi sweetie. I need you to calm down for me and open up your mind for me. Can you do that?" I asked.
The wolf started whimpering and slowly nodded its head.
After a few moments, I was able to connect with the wolf.
"Tell me your name sweetie. No one here will hurt you." I say softly to him.
"Embry" he said shyly.
"Hi. We've met a few times. I know you are probably in shock right now but I need you to relax and think of yourself as human for me please." I say to him.
After 10 minutes he finally calmed down and shifted back. Sam shifted back as well and gave him a pair of shorts.
"Hey it's okay. Let's get you back to our place and we can explain everything to you okay?" I tell him in a motherly tone.
"It will all be okay Embry. Don't worry." Sam says helping calm him down too.
Once we make it back to the house and go inside I see that the boys are awake and so is Melody. And of course her and Mason are swooning away.
"Good morning boys. Rachel and Emily thank you for making breakfast and boys welcome the new member to the pack." I say pulling Embry into the dining room with everyone.
"Embry just grab a plate and help yourself. We will explain everything while we eat." I tell him motherly once again.
I went to go get Melody but Sam beat me to it and pulled her in to his chest. It was funny yet adorable watching him go from tough alpha, to soft cuddly daddy. I couldn't help but smile at my two loves.
We were all sitting down now and began eating. "Alright so I will explain this one and let the boys eat. So, the legends you have been told about by Billy and others are true. Sam is the alpha, Jared is beta 1 and Paul is beta 2. The reason you have phased is because of the cold ones. Which are vampires of course. The Cullen's used to live in Forks are vampires but they feed on animals. The tribe and their coven have a treaty in place to where they cannot cross onto our land, feed on or bite another human. In October they left and have not returned, however, there is a red headed bitch coming around and we do not know why. When a cold one comes around the wolf gene is triggered and causes the individual to grow and fill out in muscle, their temper is heightened and they begin to eat like they have been starved. Hercules and I are different. He is a god and I am a goddess. Yes greek mythology exists. I am Ariel the daughter of Poseidon and Amphitrite. I am the goddess of Animals and nature, princess of the sea and Atlantis. Now, can you tell what triggered your temper to causing your wolf gene to come out fully?" I asked.
He stopped eating and rubbed the back of his head. "I uhh, got into an argument today with my mom. Growing up I have never known my father and I kept asking just wanting to know. She came home drunk early this morning and we started fighting. Long story short she called me a bastard child and found out my father is Joshua Uley." He says looking down.
"Well, I have said this before but fuck your dad, and welcome to the family little bro-in-law." I say smirking at him.
"Oh yeah, that's right you and Sam are married. I remember hearing about this." Embry says.
I look over at Sam and he is just looking at Embry. I decide to finish telling Embry about the rules and imprinting. Sam was getting more upset the longer he was stuck in his head so I had to get him out of there. So I stood up excused us and took Sam outside to our back patio to talk.
When we got out there he sat down and I went and sat on his lap. I pulled his head into my neck and he wrapped his arms around me.
"Talk to me baby" I say softly rubbing his back.
"How could he just leave another kid behind? Did we do something to make him be like this?" Sam asked me. I tilted his head up to look at me.
"You listen and listen good, you and Embry have done nothing wrong. You both are such great guys. You are an amazing husband, alpha, father, and mind blowing lover." I say starting to kiss him lightly. "Don't you ever doubt yourself Sam. Embry is still young and we can take him under our wing an give him the love both you and him should've received. I love you Samuel Uley. So very much." I say kissing him with more passion behind it.
When we pull away and looks me in the eyes and smiles. "I love you too Ariel Ocean Uley. Now let's go inside and talk to Embry about moving in permanently." He says to me picking me up and placing me down.
We then went outside and talked with Embry about moving in. He was super thankful and did not know what to say so he hugged both Sam and I. The boys helped him move in and then took him out for his first patrol. I was happy seeing our pack continuing to grow even though I hate the vampires are the reason they phase.
