After a week on bed rest, Sam finally relaxed some on going out and leaving me for periods of time. However, every time he came back, he would come straight over and check me over and make sure I am okay. It was cute how worried he was. I also loved his possessive alpha mate personality.
Most girls wouldn't like it because it could come across as overbearing or controlling but Sam isn't like that. He just very protective over me. He knows I can take care of myself at the end of the day but he doesn't want me to have to do that.
Today Jared is bringing Kim over to tell her about the legends. Over this week, I guess Kim and Jared have fought because he is gone all the time and secretive and Kim fears he is cheating. I can she where she is coming from.
I was sitting at the counter mixing up a batch of muffins while Emily was pulling a batch of cookies out. While we were doing all this baking, we heard a knock on the door. I was going to get up and get it but Emily gave me a stern look to stay put.
Soon Kim and the boys came in the house and over to the kitchen to get their treats. Sam of course came over to me first and gave me a kiss and kissed my belly like usual.
"Hi Kim, I'm Ariel, Sam's wife." I say smiling at her.
"Hi. It's nice to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you and Emily from Jared." She says.
"Probably all about food too huh?" I ask her laughing and she giggles in response.
We moved over into the living room and all sat down getting ready to explain to Kim the legends. Sam started with their and everything it entails. Jared explained the printing to her and she was over the moon to be good enough to be his imprint. After the boys finished their explanations, I then went to telling her my story.
"So on top of all the supernatural legends, I am a little different. I am Ariel the Daughter of Poseidon and Amphitrite. Princess of the seas, goddess of animals and nature. My mother was human and was soulmates to my father. My evil aunt poisoned my mother out of jealously causing her to go into early labor and got into my system as well. When I was born, each of my aunts and uncles gave me a gift to help me survive and then turned me into a full goddess at birth instead of waiting till of age to get my title and full powers. After reaching physical maturity my cousin and I came up here to La Push and have watched over the lands and years later is when I met Sam. He was my soulmate and I his imprint. We had a rough start but it worked out in the end." I say smiling up at Sam lovingly.
The rest of the day was story filled and Kim accepted the bond and the legends better than we expected.
It is now October and I am ready to pop. I am exhausted all the time and the pain in my lower back is getting worse. When I woke up this morning Sam was out on patrol. I noticed a pain in my stomach more than usual. It was weird. It would come and go but I didn't think anything of it.
I made my way downstairs and got some breakfast. The pain subtly was getting worse. As I was reaching for a glass I got a sharp pain and groaned. Jared came in and saw me leaned over and in pain.
"Ariel are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah. Just some pain but I'm okay." I say.
"Aren't you suppose to be laying down and resting?" He asked.
"Yes but no one was here and I wanted some food and something to drink." I tell him.
"Go lay down I will help out." He tells me.
I go and get comfortable but the pain doesn't go away. Jared takes care of me and makes sure I have everything before he leaves. After another hour I am beginning to cry.
I go to stand up and when I do it feels like I pissed myself. I get another sharp cramp and try not to yell. I called my parents and told them what was happening. They brought Dina with them and we went into the bathroom and started filling up our giant bathtub for a water birth.
"Mom I cannot do this without Sam. Please get him please." I start crying. Before she could leave Sam runs into the bathroom looking panicked with my dad.
"Hey, I came as soon as your dad came to get me. How's the pain? Do you need anything? Where do you want me?" He started asking rapidly.
"Just get in behind her and help support her and make her comfortable." Dina says.
Sam doesn't wait around and he gets to it and gets in behind me. I feel another contraction and Dina gets in with us. "Okay Ariel, the next time you feel you need to push, push." She says.
My breathing picks up because I am nervous but Sam calms me down quickly. "It's okay baby. I am here, and soon so will our little girl. You can do this baby. You are so strong and brave. You can do this Ariel." He says.
I then feel an urge to push and I do. As I push I let out a scream in pain. This went on for another 10 minutes until our little girl was here. As Dina pulled her out, she had Sam move and cut the cord. Dina then placed her on my chest and I let out a soft sob seeing my daughter. Sam comes over and looks down at his daughter. As he pulls me into his chest, I feel his wolf purr seeing his puppy.
Dina came over and took her to get her cleaned up and get her measurements. During that time, Sam helped me clean up, get dried, and dressed. After I was moved to our room and Sam helped prop me up on the bed. He got in behind me and held me close. Dina soon brought our baby in and handed her to us to start nursing. She latched on right away and Sam was in awe of watching his puppy.
There was a knock, so Sam covered me up. Mom and dad came over to check on us. "How is she?" Mom asked.
