Evelyn sat at her computer, and oddly there was a smile on her face despite the fact she was working. Apparently it just felt like a good day.

She had her first good sleep in weeks last night because her neighbours finally decided to stay quiet, her cycle had just finished and she was holding her favourite drink- a cup of coffee.

Yes, it was pitch black outside, but it was free in the cafeteria so, obviously, she had to take advantage of that.

Evelyn was just finishing up some work, checking through the work his ex-assistant had left behind- only to find that all the files were empty.

"Motherfucker!"

A bunch of staff began to look her way as they headed out, and only then did Evelyn realise she had said it out loud.

"The coffee, it's really hot" Evelyn told them, holding up her cup of coffee with a sheepish smile on her face.

They just looked at each other before continuing to walk to the exit, their brows furrowed as they rolled their eyes.

Evelyn didn't have chance to spot it as she immediately got up and began to briskly walk towards Enzo's office.

As she reached it, she knocked on the door, only to hear a deep voice shout back.

"Come in" Enzo called out and Evelyn walked in.

Enzo was currently sat at his desk, checking through some documents on his computer with a serious look on his face. He glanced up to look at Evelyn for a moment as she was stood awkwardly in front of the door.

"What is it, Miss. Tate?" Enzo asked her, his voice tired.

"You see, your old assistant was a- well, they might've been nice but-"

"Spit it out, Miss. Tate."

"All of the work they were meant to be doing for three months isn't there. Either they removed it or they didn't do it in the first place."

Enzo's face hardened, ruffling his hand through his hair as he sighed slightly. Obviously, this was as bad as it looked.

"It's not important, right?" Evelyn double checked, holding out all the hope she had.

"Half of that work was for the launch party for the company's new collection" Enzo told her and Evelyn still grasped onto that hope.

"The party that is three days from now."

Shit.

"Fuck my life" Evelyn muttered to herself.

"Feel free to go, I'll handle it" Enzo told her.

Evelyn was surprised. It was the first time he had done anything remotely kind for her, usually he'd just pile on work for her to finish.

"No, I'm going to help you."

Enzo looked up as he heard the words leave Evelyn's mouth, connecting his gaze with hers as the corner of his lip tugged up slightly.

"Well then, Miss. Tate- looks like we're working overtime tonight."

After hours of work, Evelyn was still sat on the sofa sorting through what felt like hundreds of documents, a pile of them surrounding her. Enzo was sat at his desk, working at his computer as he tapped on the keyboard.

Evelyn sat chewing on the end of her pen, furrowing her brows as she read through a document.

"This is fucking stupid" Evelyn muttered to herself, but Enzo heard her.
