As the blindfold was moved from her eyes, Ines could now see what was around her. Tied to a chair, she realised the building was abandoned.

However, she couldn't see Kae or Kiara anywhere and she had nowhere near enough energy to break free from the ropes, no matter how hard she tried.

"There you are, I've been waiting for you," A voice spoke, deep as an evil chuckle echoed around the building.

"W-what do you want?" Ines asked, her voice tired as she had barely enough energy to lift her head up.

"You know what I want," The voice spoke again, and now it was so clear.

"Leonardo," Ines spoke, his name sending chills down her spine.

"You guessed correctly," He told her, an evil grin spread across his face.

"Now, we both know that I am going to kill you, I won't sugarcoat it," Leonardo told her and Ines chuckled to herself.

"Is it because I stole your girl? Is your ego hurt?"

Ines couldn't say anything else before he landed a harsh punch to her face, a cut forming on her cheekbone as blood dripped down her face. Leonardo placed his hands around her neck, admiring the sight of her struggling to breathe.

"I see you still wear that charm I gave you," Leonardo joked. "That scar is the only good thing about you."

Leonardo was referring to the scar on Ines' neck, formed from the time he almost slit her throat. Then, Estela shot him and he was supposed dead for seven years, but Ines knew that this time he wouldn't stop until he followed through.

Until he killed her once and for all.

"Rot in hell, Valenzuela," Ines spat, almost breathless before Leonardo removed his hands from around her throat.

"Going to hell for killing you will be the best thing that ever happened to me," Leonardo told her and Ines' face turned cold.

"Not the birth of your daughter? You may be a psycho, but we both know you care about her," Ines told him and anger shot across his face, slapping her cheek.

"Don't you dare question my love for my daughter!" Leonardo yelled, a bitter silence following it.

"If it was up to me, you'd already be dead," Leonardo told her, his face red with anger.

"But I need something from you, first."

Ines furrowed her brows, thinking of what she could possibly give him. All she knew was that she wasn't doing anything for him.

"You're out of luck. I'm not doing anything for you," Ines told him and he smirked.

"I thought you'd say something like that," Leonardo spoke before turning around. "Bring them in."

Ines could make out four figures walking into the room, one being a small girl. It was Kae and Kiara.

"If you refuse to do what I say, I won't hesitate to have them killed," Leonardo told her, folding his arms.

"What will it be?"

The last thing Ines wanted was to help Leonardo, but she wasn't going to let Kae and Kiara get killed. Leonardo knew she had empathy, and he used that against her- her kindest weakness.

"Fine, what is it?" Ines asked, not daring to look towards Kae and Kiara. Since they were silent, she assumed that they were either unconscious or had tape over their mouths.

"I had an encounter with someone the other day, I don't know who- but now this has appeared," Leonardo spoke, rolling down his sleeve.

His veins were no longer the usual blue or green colour, but a deep black. Ines furrowed her brows, she hadn't seen anything like this before.
