chapter 69: milan

dad eases his way into the seat at the head on the table "i've shot you before why are you acting like a big baby" aunt v sips her coffee "v i shouldn't be alive right now give me a break" dad isn't in a dress shirt and suit pants today like he normally is. This is the first time I've seen him in pajamas.

i pour the champagne and orange juice in my glass before turning to luciano "you want any" he shakes his head "no i'm on some pretty strong painkillers" i nod smiling and setting it down.

"i hear Rose is on her way, she's going to be here at midnight '' Maria smiles, gently clapping her hands  as Daniel sips his coffee in silence. The two of them tend to be complete opposites at times but they are both very loving people and that is all that matters.

Dante whispers something to Antonio and Alice glances at me, chewing on her bottom lip. I nod gently telling her that if she wants to spill the beans it's okay and she takes a deep breath shutting her eyes.

her head turns to stefano and she pulls the test out of her robe pocket. "stefano" her voice is quiet and he hums cutting up his food for a moment before turning to her. She looks down into her lap and he follows her eyes.

my brother's eyes widen and she smiles "alice. are you-" she nods "yes" dads brows furrow and hazel's and i smiles widen "holy shit" his smiles grows "what's going on?" aunt v leans her head over. Stefano pushes out his seat and just stands for a moment. "I'm going to be a dad" everyone's face changes to a shocked expression.

"I'm going to be a dad!" his smile grows wider. Alice stands and Stefano just takes her into his arms spinning her around laughing causing her to squeak. "this isn't a joke right" she shakes her head.

"Did you know about this?" I turn to Luciano "maybe" I smile laughing. dad smiles "i would come over there and hug you both but i was shot three times, but congratulations''

"looks like your new title is grandpa" blade smiles and dad laughs "very funny blade" dad smiles rolling his eyes "oh alice, i'm so happy for you" maria hugs her and daniel follows shortly after "i'm having the first grandchild, take that vin" stefano flips him off and vin rolls his eyes "we are nowhere near pregnancy" hazel rolls her eyes flipping him off.

Alice sits back down wiping her tears "my heart is racing right now" her hands shake as she picks up her glass taking a sip. Stefano kisses her cheek and takes her hands into his kissing them as well. "auntie niki sounds fitting" i take luciano's hands "it's what the kid decides uncle luchi" his brows raise.

"that child is going to be insanely spoiled" aunt v sips her mimosa "i know" she places a hand in her stomach "but baby's got the mafia to keep them humbled" alice sighs "no chance" maria takes another sip of coffee with a smile.

"I think that baby will be the perfect amount of everything." dante smiles

walking down the steps i take a deep breath reaching the basement. "you sure you wanna do this alone" i turn around to maria "i'll be okay there are guards" maria nods as i keep on walking to the last room. chills run down my spine as the cold air sets into my skin. I shouldn't have worn a tank top.

two guards outside the door let me past. I push the door open and there sits a chained up cora. you have got to be kidding me "Why is she chained up?" I raise my voice at the two men standing inside with large guns. "Was it not clear I wanted handcuffs!" I roll my eyes "give me the keys" i hold my hand out.

the large man reaches into his pocket and hands me the small silver key. "you can go wait outside"  both men nod leaving the room. "what do you take me and then try to help me, you're worse than rose" my brows raise "you do know who i am right cora?" she shakes her head "nicoletta rivera"
